Growing up I got a lot of handmade clothes and costumes. Because mom and grandma were super crafty. I know people who make and sell jewelry. I visit etsy.com frequently and am amazed at the talent of some people.
That said, there's an attempt being made to stop the sale of handmade toys in the U.S. because they aren't "safe." You can read about it here.
Even if you don't know anyone personally, take a minute to sign the petition here. There's also links to write to your congressman or senator. Navigate around a bit. And save handmade toys!
