Happy Friday

I know, I didn't post again about the game last night. But wouldn't you rather nap than blog if you didn't get home until the wee hours?

Exactly.

But I do have this for you.

Happy Friday. Fear the Beard.

Um... WOW

Hey I'm here! And awake! Getting out of bed was SO hard this morning. I slept almost the whole way home, but we didn't even get out of the parking lot until midnight...

SO WORTH IT.

If you were reading my tweets last night you got some idea of how the game went. Let's just have a quick rundown, because I only have about eleven minutes before I need to be on yard duty...

Worked half day. Went home. Changed and packed up. Shared Tad's message with hubby and brother-in-law. (Manlet called and left me a message before he went to school this morning not to forget his jersey. He even reminded me where it was. Excited little boy much?) Got on the road. Got the boys. Headed out.

Uneventful drive unless you count the fact that we were closely watching the clouds. There was a slight chance of rain, but it was supposed to clear out before game time. Those clouds on our way were uuuuugly. We finally rolled into San Francisco and parked and changed. It was cool, but not raining. Yay! In fact the sun was even mostly out. We dawdled on our way from the car to the park, taking pics and such. Once we got there we had to wait so we walked around some more. Finally the gates opened and after a quick bathroom trip (Tad's eyeballs were floatin' he had to go so bad) we headed toward our seats.

Hubby did good. We hung out at the bottom for awhile watching the players practice. I took plenty of pics of Brian Wilson (a.k.a. Hubby's twinner). He was just amusing to watch. His personality even comes out in practice. Then we hung out until game time. Got something to eat. Watched the place pretty much fill up.

And holycowohmygoodness WHAT a game.

But you guys will have to hear that part later, because my time is about up and I need to go finish my Rockstar (a.k.a. salvation when your game goes into extra innings) and get ready for yard duty.

I'll check back later...

*Woot!*

I be workin' a half day today. So right about now I'm counting the hours to this goodness...

Yes, you've seen the video. If you're like me, you've watched it several times by now. But here's the goodness.

In 12 hours we will totes be at the game. With two nephews in tow. All black and orange. Possibly all bearded.

Be jealous. I'm so beyond stoked I can't handle it.

Happy Wednesday.

Oh Hai

Um, so I'm still alive. In case you were wondering. Just insanely busy. Church Wednesday, open house Thursday, and baseball last night...

Okay, baseball was only at home, but interleague is an important time to us. Obvs. And I'm totes not bitter that his team won. Because I'm cheering hard for my boys to have their turn today.

Craziness doesn't stop here though. I have seven days of school left. I will not be home much this weekend. We're starting the morning by taking Tad to tee ball (Hubby has the weekend off so he gets to go). Then off to an uncle's house for a massive BBQ. Then tomorrow we're adding to our little familia over here.

Yup, we found another pup. Well, we didn't find her, but we found the one we wanted to buy.

So someday I'll return to you and amuse you. And seeing as how Idol is the finale this week, I'll definitely blog it. I'll MAKE the time.

Alright, off to get ready for the manlet's game. See ya when I see ya!

Oh Hello There

Remember me? I'm that super busy school teacher that likes to come here and chat sometimes.

Well, things aren't less busy. Yet. But the time where I can resume regular posts is very close. 12 days of school left. Of course there's a field trip, open house, planting day, and water day in there. But it's all coming together!

I've crossed a couple things off my list on the side over there. My parents took me to IKEA yesterday!!! We were in SoCal for a family party and they surprised me by planning the stop ahead of time. Ummm... can I just live there now? For realsies. It was amazing. Hubby and I are going back this summer. We desperately need a new couch. And I think I found my perfect living room curtains finally. I also crossed off sewing something that I'm proud of. I sewed a shirt from scratch and wore it to work. No pics yet, but I'll do that eventually. I've also refashioned a few things and have lots more sewing planned.

So that's me. Our weekend was fun, even though I had to go without hubby. :( I got to see some of my cousins from Mexico though! And started making some summer plans with some other cousins. And possibly made spring break plans for next year already.

Whew.

So I'm off to start another week. Probably with some coffee. I definitely need some coffee.

American Idol - Top 4

This will be a quick one. I want to get to bed.

So let's get two things out of the way:
  1. Lady Gaga is a freak. FREAK. She's not original, she's an attention whore.
  2. Randy needs to shut up with this "in it to win it" stuff. If I have to hear him say that again, I might scream. Oh... wait... I kinda did that at the TV tonight already.
Alright, James picked "Don't Stop Believin'" and totes disappointed. The judges liked him for some reason. Hubby and I did not. His second song was "Love Potion #9." Better. But still not as good as I think he has been before. Is it me, or is his shouting more frequent than his singing?

Haley picked "The Earth Song." Ummm... what? Really, I went back on the DVR to make sure I heard her right. So hippie song it is. I didn't like it. I liked her voice just fine, but the song choice was just plain disappointing. It was pretty funny watching her get annoyed with Randy while he sat and said he didn't like it. Her second song was "I Who Have Nothing." Good choice. MUCH better than her first song.  I love her. And I loved her dress... or what there was of it.

Scotty started with "Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning." It's funny to me because he sang the song like someone who can totally remember everything about that day... even though he was about 7 when 9/11 happened? I lurve him. And I lurve him more after he sang "Young Blood." Because he was just fun. And adorable. And I would be okay with him winning it all.

Lauren picked "Anyway" for her first song. She sounded good. But I didn't see anything new from her. Just consistent Lauren. Then her second song was "Trouble." She was much better on that one. Well, kinda. I thought she started off SUPER strong, but the end just wasn't as good. Overall she was enjoyable.

Who do I want to stay? All I care is that Scotty and Haley make it through. The third can be whoever and there will be no shouting at the TV over it. That said, I think the bottom two might be the girls. Just an inkling I have. We shall see.

Typhoid. Out.

MIA

Yeeeahhhh... that's me. So have some randomness.
  • 15 days of school left. Holy cow. That was fast.
  • A TON of work to do. Ick.
  • Outta town this weekend. Yay! Without hubby. BOOO!
  • My baby turned 7... I am officially feeling old and depressed.
  • My credit is apparently doing pretty decent. Upping our chances at purchasing a home in the near future.
Still debating what to do with my summer. Lots of reading, that's for sure. And speaking of reading, I'm about to ditch y'all to continue with some Sookie Stackhouse. Yea-yuh.

Happy Mother's Day

Just wanted to take a minute to give a quick shout out to all the moms out there. And I'll throw in a few specific ones today...
  • my mom... duh. Thanks for everything.
  • my grandmas, but extra props to my grandma Ophie. She's always been a saint for some of the things she had to endure, but now she's raising my twin 17-year-old cousins... WOW. And she's doing an amazing job.
  • my friend Kellee... a new mommy. :)
  • my wonderful Bonnie. New grandma and always an amazing woman.
  • my sissy Beth. She does it all... and has finally started asking for help when she needs it.
I love all these wonderful women plus so many more.

Happy Mother's Day!

Neglected

That's my poor little blog. Things are going to get hectic around here. For about the next month. Let's see...
  • birthday dinner for my baby this week
  • ball game for my nephews then a birthday party on Saturday, oh and cousin's prom
  • Mother's Day Sunday (yay for brunch and mimosas!)
  • possible weekend trip to SoCal the next weekend?
  • lots of birthdays scattered throughout the month
  • definite weekend out of town, likely a family barbecue
  • another birthday party
  • a baseball game? Quite possibly.
  • open house, field trip, last day of school
I will probably be scarce around here. Consider that your warning. I'm so ready for summer. Crafting, drinking, shooting, playing some pool, camping, and family time. Bring it.

21 work days.
