So it was supposed to be the girls tonight, but Crystal was sick or something. So the boys are taking their turn. I'm okay with that. They're doing Billboard hits again.
Big Mike: He's singing "This is a Man's World." He has great stage presence. He sounds good too. But I already knew he would be one of my faves. Randy loved him. Ellen said that everyone now has to try and top him. Kara loved him (is it just me or is she sitting superclose to Simon tonight?). Simon loved him too.
John Park: He's singing "Gravity" by John Mayer. He sounds a hundred times better than last week. I don't know about great though. I wouldn't be upset if he didn't make it too far. Randy said he wasn't as good as the original. Ellen wanted more feeling. Kara said she didn't get a connection from him. Simon said there was nothing to get excited about.
Casey James: *sigh* Just had to throw that in. He's singing "I Don't Wanna Be" by Gavin DeGraw. Playing his own guitar. Hotness just went up a few points again. I love a man with a guitar. I like it, but I don't know if I love it. He's pretty - he needs to sing pretty songs. haha Randy loved it. Ellen loved the song choice, but thinks there's a little stiffness still. Kara thought he "took two steps backward." (And she is leaning on Simon, has she busted into Paula's old stash?) Simon thought he turned into a bar singer trying to be a rock star.
Alex Lambert: Seriously, can we do something about that mullet? He's singing "Everybody Knows" by John Legend. He sounds better. And looks waaaay more comfortable. Even hubby commented on how much better he sounds. Randy said it's a huge improvement. Ellen went with the banana analogy again. She liked him. Kara said everyone is rooting for him. I honestly think she's on something tonight. Simon said it was a million times better than last week.
Todrick Hall: He's singing Tina Turner? He took "What's Love Got To Do With It" and slowed it down. It's honestly a little boring. He sounds good, but I'm already bored with it. Randy wasn't happy with the arrangement. Ellen didn't think it was the right song. Kara thinks he's "crazy, all over the place." Simon said "move, but don't sing." haha See why I probably won't watch after he leaves? Who else will say stuff like that?
Jermaine Sellers: I don't think I like him. He sounds like a flippin' girl in the interview before his performance. He's singing "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye. I don't even know the song so I hope he wasn't hoping to be current tonight. I'm bored. Randy liked it better than last week, but said it wasn't a great performance. Ellen didn't really like it and she was struggling to say so. Kara said he's always doing too much. Simon said that they're frustrated and disappointed because he "waters down the songs."
**Gotta throw this in. I HATE that Randy calls Ellen "E." Her name is TWO syllables, there is no reason to shorten it!!!**
Andrew Garcia: Come on Andrew, bring it! He's singing "You Give Me Something" by James Morrison. His voice is good, but what is up with these song choices tonight?! Pick up the pace a little guys! That said, he does sound really good. Randy didn't like it. Ellen liked him a lot. She repeated that the problem is that he set the bar so high with his Paula Abdul song. Kara agreed that that's the problem. Simon said it's frustrating because he can't seem to choose a song.
**EEEEEE!!! Clash of the Titans trailer!!!! I am SO going to see Sam Worthington in 3D!!**
Aaron Kelly: He's singing "My Girl." It's not current, but at least it's recognizable. And he sounds really good. I'm not a fan of the little kids typically, but he's good. Randy liked him. Ellen thought the song wasn't the best choice, but liked him. Kara liked it. Simon didn't like it.
Tim Urban: He's singing "Come on Get Higher" by Matt Nathanson. He sounds a hundred times better than last week, but how could he not? I like this song and he doesn't sound bad. Randy said there was nothing special about it. Ellen could see him on Glee, but said there's no charisma even though he's adorable. Kara didn't like it so much. Simon said it was a huge improvement. He said he listened to the criticism and was more relevant.
Lee Dewyze: I really like him. He's singing "Lips of an Angel." I gasped a little. I am LOVING HIMMMM!!!!!! I like his version better than the original. The original is a little whiny for me. Randy LIKED it (his emphasis). Ellen said there was passion and intensity and it was a great performance. Kara thought it was a big improvement. Simon said that vocally he's "head and shoulders above everyone else." But he needs to be confident. I agree that he looks scared right now.
Okay... so John isn't great. And you need to be great. Tim seems pretty weak still, but apparently some pics of his six-pack are floating around the interwebz so those might just save him this week. Jermaine isn't my favorite either. I'm almost ready to pick up the phone for Lee! He was my favorite, I might just be crushing.
Girls tomorrow night. Another blog then.

Seeing movies stars in 3D is awesome. I enjoyed every minute of Michelle Rodriquez's boobs in Avatar.
Yes, that is what I choose to comment on. *smirk*
