Aaaand I Can't Be Stopped

See what happens when I'm on vacation? I have to time to watch videos and post them! Y'all are in for it if this much good stuff comes out every Monday.

So currently the husband and I watch Game of Thrones every Sunday night. It's on HBO so it's plenty bloody and has an unnecessary amount of sex sometimes. But the story is great. The first episode made me gasp and yell at the television at the end. Last night ended with tears in my eyes and the need to throw up. I didn't throw up BTW, just poured myself another drink and ranted and raved for ten minutes.

So HBO has me. But next week is the season finale of Game of Thrones. And do you know what comes next? DO YOU???

Um, YES (or I Can Die Happy)

So y'all know I watch soaps. Have watched soaps going on... what, thirteen years? Maybe only twelve. Have been faithful to All My Children and One Life to Live. Then they went and cancelled my soaps on me and I spit fire in ABC's general direction. Bad thoughts, angry words... you got it.

Well, none of my closest friends watch soaps. I'm all alone in my loss.

Or I was.

A parent of one of my students is a HUGE fan so we've been suffering together and angsting about how they'd better end it the right way OR ELSE. In the middle of one of our gushing/dreaming/venting convos I mentioned how the only way I will be happy is if they bring back Leo (*sigh*). Josh Duhamel (a.k.a. boyfriend) played him about ten years ago. He "died" (you know soaps) right around the time hubby and I met. There were tears involved (from me) and I have missed him ridiculously ever since. When I mentioned his name to Tina, she gasped and said, "You just gave me chills! Yes!!"

We can die happy with the ending to our soap opera. Oh Leo... I've missed you.

Wednesday Wish List

It's back! I had the hardest time coming up with something to wish for. Seriously. I wasn't feelin' anything.

Then I realized that Futurama returned last week. And it is teh awesomeness. So have a Futurama-themed list today.

WOW

Okay, I knew going in that I wasn't ready for the Lost finale. I knew. I was discussing it with my mother and she was asking about the deaths that completely derailed me and I just KNEW I wasn't ready for this.

And holy cow, was it amazing!

I won't attempt a recap, or even my own two cents on the episode, because you can find those anywhere. And they'll probably be better thought out than my own would be.

I just have to say: I cried for a good portion of it. Like, easily forty minutes. Possibly more. Two rum and cokes did not help me relax. Terry O'Quinn is OUTSTANDING. The man needs an Emmy this year. I can also appreciate Michael Emerson a bit more now. I pink-puffy-heart Daniel Dae Kim. All these actors are now going to be referred to as their characters. Which is funny, because up until now hubby and I referred to Nestor Carbonell as Batmanuel. And Dominic Monaghan has always been "Merry" to us (thanks LOTR). But now he'll forever be "Chah-lie."

Yes, we say it like Claire would. Hubby corrects me if I don't say it that way.

Seriously, I really don't know if there will ever be another show that can compare with this. AMAZINGNESS. And totally worth the puffy eyes and headache I've suffered.

5 Things...

Hubby and I have been watching the last couple seasons of Lost every chance we get. And now we're going to try and fly through this season on our DVR. By Sunday. It's actually been a little exhausting and not quite as helpful as we had hoped it would be. But it gave me some random thoughts related to the show. So this week, for possibly our final time...

5 Things About Lost

1. I'm not too thrilled with the "explanation" of the light in last week's episode. I really hope that gets touched on a bit more. It just didn't make enough sense for me.
2. Hubby decided that Hurley has made me cry more than any other character, and I guess it's true. I cried for him when Libby died. I cried when he found out Charlie died. Then I cried again when he had to tell Claire. I cried a couple weeks ago when he outright sobbed over the deaths in that episode. I even teared up when he was able to be happy with Libby in sideways world. I guess we'll see what happens with this final three and a half hours...
3. Watching last season over again has only confirmed that I still can't stand Juliet. And I'm horrified that her and Sawyer might end up together in sideways world. Eeesh...
4. I'm bothered by the fact that the Man in Black has no name. REALLY bothered.
5. I can't decide if my favorite couple for the whole series would be Jin and Sun or Desmond and Penny. Not that that really matters, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

*sigh* I am SO not ready for tonight. The episode title may have caused a small brain hemorrhage. I'll have a box of tissues ready to go. And I'm DEFINITELY not ready for Sunday night. At all.

Well, given that I am MAJORLY excited about Glee returning tonight...

5 Things About Glee

1. This show is so good, even hubby enjoys it. Seriously. He doesn't just watch it because I am, he ENJOYS it.
2. Sue Sylvester is the best villain EVAARRRR!
3. The episode with the special needs girl trying out for the Cheerios... followed by Sue reading to her own special needs sister... um, I cried. Amazing episode.
4. Kurt playing football is also one of my faves. Partly because it cracks me up to watch the football team dance. But also because my friend LeRoy was channel surfing and came across it. He stopped because it was a show involving a football team... then they started dancing. He was fantastically confused and it's my new favorite story about him.
5. I'm not really a Madonna fan, but I'm SO looking forward to next weeks episode with her songs. SO LOOKING FORWARD.

P.S. - I'll still post an American Idol blog tonight. It's the best way to let all my pent up snark out. haha

Well, this should be fairly obvious to you today.

5 THINGS ABOUT LOST (IT'S BACK TONIGHT!!!)

1. I am seriously contemplating throwing a finale party. Seriously. If you would come, let me know. As long as I can get at least ten other people, it's ON!
2. The first four minutes of the the premiere showed up online last week. I wasn't even tempted to watch. This is a big deal because I tend to like spoilers. Not this time.
3. We actually haven't followed the show the entire time. Hubby and I watched the first season (so did my mom) and a little of the second. Then life intervened and some shows had to be sacrificed. Fall of 2008 SyFy (back then it was still SciFi) showed four episodes every Monday night. We watched. And then realized that we should just rent the seasons so we could get through and catch up for the Season 5 premiere. So we did.
4. Season 4 got me through my Christmas baking. I cried so hard I had to take a break from cookie dough.
5. I despise Juliet. Hated her with Sawyer. Also don't want Jack and Kate together. Jack has evolved into this whiny, needy guy. Kate shouldn't deal with that crap. Go Kate and Sawyer!!!

It would be so easy to make this "10 things" today, but I won't. Not sure if I'll post my thoughts on the episode each week or not. I guess it'll depend on how I'm feeling. And just FYI, the American Idol live blogs will suffer. Lost wins.

Because I'm So Very Mature

Last night at mom's we were making ringtones and finding songs from some favorite shows from back in the day. And since it's Friday, and we have a holiday weekend, I felt some videos were appropriate.

And since it was pretty much our topic of conversation last night (and because I so very badly want the series on DVD), today I'll stick to Animaniacs.




Oh, Wakkorotti. What's funny is that my mom wasn't so amused by these segments when I was a kid. But last night she laughed pretty hard when I found the song.

Hey, it's a Holiday

Well, technically. How much do you wanna bet that everyone "celebrating" has no idea why? It's become an excuse to go out and drink. Whatev, I'm not going out. I'm not even venting, just making a note of the irony of people going out and drinking to some unknown celebration.

Anyhow, it's Tuesday. I have two students to meet with later. Hubby works overnight again (well, until 2 am, but it's hard sleeping when he's not here!). He's also out fixing a car right now. Hopefully he'll be back before I have to go tutor. It would be nice if I get to see him for more than a half hour today.

To occupy myself last night (when he also worked overnight) I watched Dancing. And made cupcakes. Delicious, from scratch cupcakes. Hubby devoured one this morning and reviewed it by making a pleased drool/moan similar to Homer Simpson. I sent some off to my mom's work so hopefully I can get a review from them. No pics at the moment, but perhaps your Friday photo...

Tonight, it's on to American Idol. I'll DVR the Dancing results, because results shows are mainly filler anyway. The AI blog may just wait until tomorrow to be posted, I'm not sure yet. Now that I'm blogging two shows I may adjust when things are posted.

And if I get bored enough... there may be more cupcakes. This time with Bailey's. Ya know, to celebrate and all.

You should really watch Important Things With Demetri Martin. What? You don't know what it is?

Demetri Martin is a comedian. I honestly had no clue who he was until we caught the show on Comedy Central last week. It's great. He's so random and I love it. You know me and randomness. Randomness is the frosting on my cupcake.

So if you have cable or satellite, check it out. He's on Wednesdays at 10:30. You will laugh. If you don't, I'll give you your money back.* And to further convince you, a video.

Oh Happy Day

ABC is announcing their names for Dancing With the Stars on Sunday!!!! They're going to drop the names during their shows on Sunday, which I'm totally not going to sit around and watch. But that means the names will be all over the interwebz before I go to bed Sunday night!!!

Here's me being super excited at all this good news on a Monday.

Now there is a problem. American Idol is on at the same time. But I've decided that I sincerely enjoy my live-blogging and I'll watch American Idol while I set the DVR for Lost. *sigh* What did the world do before DVR?

It's also comic book day. So I need to scoot my butt over to Marvel.com to see if anything came out today that I was waiting for. See y'all tonight at eight!

... and you know what that means, right?

American Idol!!!

Yes, I will sit and let my brain rot and eardrums suffer tonight. And I will probably blog my thoughts about it. Because I can.

EEEEE!!!

Two weeks people. I'm so glad I got caught up.

So there's this new show...

And it's called "Whale Wars." Tim and I have a huge issue with this show. The premise is this group of people who are interfering with Japanese whaling ships. The Japanese are apparently doing this illegally. And this group is pissed. So they do things like throw gas bombs onto the whaling ships, try to jam the propellers on the ships, or even board the ships to try and force no action.

They are eco-terrorists. Plain and simple. And jerks.

So we were discussing how Animal Planet will give anyone a show now. Maybe we should get a show. But then I realized I don't think animals are people. And that's a problem if you're going to be on Animal Planet. And Tim said, "I have an idea. In light of recent political events... Whalin' With Palin."

He's rather proud of himself. And if anyone steals our idea, we have an uncle who is a feared lawyer. So think twice.

Watching the new 90210 on the WB tonight.

Loving it.

Am I a little lame? Maybe. But oh well. TV drama is awesome.

New Show

So I heart TLC. I could watch most of their shows at any given moment. What Not to Wear is the best thing ever. Love Say Yes to the Dress. Take Home Chef? Why can't I have him come home with me? So they debuted a new show last Friday. I set the DVR for it so Tim didn't have to suffer through it. It's called Ashley Paige: Bikini or Bust. The commercials looked hilarious because the mom is totally nuts. So I gave it a shot.

Well, watching it right now... love it. Ashley Paige is an aspiring swimwear designer and seriously has got nothing. She's behind on every payment she could be. She lives in L.A. with her mom. And her mom is seriously cracking me up. Want some mom highlights?

Ashley is behind on bills and stressing about it. Her mother (after feeding homemade biscuits to each dog) says, "Don't worry about the bills. Forget about the bills for a while. Now here, have a biscuit." Because a biscuit will make everything better???

The focus of the first two episodes was Ashley getting ready for fashion week. For those of you who don't know, several cities have a fashion week, L.A. among them. It's basically a bunch of designers doing runway shows to debut their lines. So Ashley is doing one even though she can barely afford it. So as part of a runway show, you obviously need models. Ashley had models at her shop, basically trying out for the runway show. Well, Ashley's mother is there and keeps talking about how skinny everyone is. She straight up got donuts and went down the line of models, trying to get them to eat. These models looked so confused. "Eat? But, then I would be a size zero instead of negative two!"

Last mom highlight... Ashley has plants in her shop, but they needed some better potting soil. So mom runs to the store to get it. She comes back, and starts putting the stuff in the plants. And everyone at the shop can't figure out why it smells... that would be because Ashley's mom bought STEER MANURE for the plants. So everyone is gagging and running outside... great stuff.

So if you want something amusing to watch on Friday night, watch Ashley. I think it's on at ten. The mom is the best part, but I like fashion so it's also fine with me to watch someone try to make it.
