Monday Confession

Just to let you know, this may be my last Monday confession for a good minute. I'm running out of things to confess to. Because there are some things I'm just not putting in here.

That said, this week's confession has been revealed to my parents, husband, and brother already. And it got a great reaction, which just made me happier about coming up with it.

I have a slight crush on Seth Rogen.

Don't ask me why, I just do. He's by no means pretty or anything that would land him on a woman's list. But I just have a thing for him.

Mom, Tim and my brother were slightly disturbed by this. Are you?

Monday Confession

Ladies and gents...

I read comic books. On a regular basis.

I have friends who would argue this is not geeky or something worthy of a confession. But they're comic books. You all know the stereotypes. And I don't fit it. Therefore this is so worthy of a confession.

Now, in my defense the comics I buy every month are based on literature. I'm currently keeping up with the Dark Tower series, The Stand, and Ender's Game. All of which I'm loving. And if you haven't read the books themselves, do yourselves a favor and pick them up. All of them are in my favorites.

Regardless, I read comic books. Making me a geek.

That is all. I'm going to go push up my glasses and take my inhaler now.

Monday Confession

Some would argue that this week's confession isn't something I have to be ashamed about. I'm on the fence.

I have watched All My Children for over ten years now. And One Life to Live for at least five. There are times when I stopped watching for a bit. The days before DVR were a pain in the rump. But now that I have a DVR, I end up with ten hours of TV to sit through every week.

Slightly ridiculous? Yes. But I love me some soaps.

Monday Confession

Happy Monday friends. Or not so happy Monday. I guess it depends on how yours is going. New week, new confession.

I can go a couple weeks without shaving during the winter. It gets pretty bad. But I hate shaving, so what's the point of smooth legs if they're covered by jeans when it's cold?

Monday Confession

This is getting harder. I feel like I don't have much to confess. Most of the crap I do everyone knows about. But I'll try and keep it up. So today...

I am twenty-six years old and I can count the number of times I have voted on one hand. I just don't do it every time.

So there. Now before you ask: yes, I am voting this year.

Monday Confession

Okay, this isn't something huge and life-changing. But I thought I'd share because it came up last night...

I have never seen The Godfather, Scarface or any of those other mobster type movies.

No desire. I don't get it. So no, I will not be seeing them either. And I'm perfectly fine with that.

Monday Confession

It's Monday people! Let the confessions fly!
Today's isn't incriminating or very embarrassing. But it is slightly ridiculous.
I have an irrational fear and intense hatred of earthworms.
That's right. The mere sight of one wriggling on the sidewalk makes me simultaneously want to run screaming and spew my last meal on the concrete.
I'm screwed when I have kids.

Monday Confession

It's kind of tough to come up with these sometimes, but seeing as how it's Monday I gotta try.

Soooo...

The horrible Power Rangers movie that came out in the 90's? Yeah, I probably have most of it memorized. Even to this day.

I used to be in love with Tommy. But what chick Power Ranger fan wasn't?! And now my nephew watches it so I kind of sneak in and watch parts of it from time to time.

Okay, I'm going to walk away with my head hanging in shame now.

Confession

It's time again.

I loved The Fast and the Furious.

Yes a large part of that was probably Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. But I loved it. Went with my best guy friend at the time and some people from church to see it in the theater. Bought the DVD as soon as it came out.

Then came the weak excuses for sequels. Didn't even bother watching those. Although I contemplated the third movie because it featured drifting and Tim and I were pretty into that for a good minute.

Now I got on my home page for myspace this week. What do I see? Another sequel. Only it will have the original cast. I think I got a little too stoked at the thought. And honestly, if I can find someone as lame as me, I'll totally see it in the theater.

Confession

It's time for another confession. Don't think less of me for this one.

I enjoy Britney Spears.

Yeah, I do. But before you accuse me of having bad taste, let me remind you that she hit it big while I was in high school. And it was cool seeing someone my age be successful. I never wanted to be her like some girls did, but I was a closet fan.

Because for some reason you can't like Britney (or boy bands or any other pop singer) without being judged. Which is pretty ridiculous. If you strive to be like that person then you may need help, but it's not a crime to enjoy the music.

Seriously, put on a Britney CD and try not to dance or tap your foot or something. It's difficult. Because even if it isn't the most original or creative sound on earth, it's catchy. I'm not comparing her to the Ramones or John Mayer or anything, but for that genre, it's enjoyable.

Was I waiting for a comeback after she divorced her husband? No. Was I counting the days to a new album? No. But I hoped she would succeed when she finally gave it another shot. Then came the award show on MTV. And the train wreck that was her performance. I felt bad, but also laughed at it. Because some people can only be that bad if they try. It was bad. I watched the video a few times, posted it in a myspace bulletin, laughed at the commentary by bloggers...

But I hope she can do better next time.

Another confession

Hi, my name is Ashley and I am an adult who loves High School Musical.

Laugh, call me lame, do what you will. I tried to fight it, but the movies are just good. I'm a sucker for musicals anyway. No I don't think Zac Efron is in the least bit cute. I just like the movies.

I watch the trailers for the third movie and can't wait for October. I'm going to take my niece so I have a good excuse to go. My mom wants to go with us too. Actually, I'm at the point where I would probably go see it anyway, even without my niece.

So there ya go. I'm one of the old folks that likes those movies.

Confession

Okay, so I'm watching I Love the New Millennium on VH1 and they were discussing Daniel Craig as James Bond in 2006. Tim looked at me and said, "You never saw that one did you?" My response?

"I have never ever seen a James Bond movie."

Honest. I've seen maybe ten minutes at the most of one, and I couldn't tell you which one that was. I'm just not interested. At all. Couldn't tell ya why, I just highly doubt I will ever see a James Bond movie.

Go ahead and try to tell me what I'm missing out on. If my hubby can't convince me to watch one, I doubt any of you can. But hey, if you want to try, be my guest.

Now back to my VH1.
