Ick.
108 degrees is just too damn hot.
There's a good possibility I will melt today.
Today is also July 11... meaning free Slurpee day. Of course they're small so it really won't do anything to cool me off.
If anyone wants to take me to the beach or somewhere cool you have my permission to kidnap me.

Bad Mommy
Poor neglected little blog.
I just haven't made it a priority. I haven't done amazing things lately. Well... not amazing, but I ran my first 5K last Saturday in San Jose. Actually, "ran" is a bit misleading. I walked most of it. But I was still proud of myself for doing it. I have another (untimed one) in less than four weeks. Then another in September. It wasn't terrible. I obviously didn't die (a sentiment I expressed concern over on Facebook). It gave me a time to beat for the next one at least.
Manicure is coming tomorrow. As I write I still have one more step to complete.
So come back tomorrow. Cuz I love my little mani this week.

Flash Mob!!!
So as a part of the nerd fest last week we had a flash mob. Not just any flash mob, one that ended in a proposal. Here's the best video I've found so far.
If you want to see me just look at the girl in the white shirt centered between the couple when he's proposing. Guess I picked a good spot. haha

Further Evidence of My Nerd Status
I participated in our city's first (hopefully annual) Star Wars Pub Crawl!!!
Met so many cool people that night and saw some awesome costumes. I also got to be in my first flash mob!!!! Sadly no good video to show yet. I'm workin' on it.
I don't know the guy who dressed as Lando at the top but he was way too legit for me to NOT post a picture. I mean, really.
Good thing my husband finds my nerdiness endearing...

Lookie lookie...
I'm here! I know y'all have missed me. My last post was LAST WEEK. So long ago, right? But I've been crazy busy and having crazy amounts of fun. Let's break it down for ya.
And because I wasn't here Monday, here's a manicure pic for you. I didn't do them until Tuesday, but at least I did them.
Happy Thursday. If you think you can contribute to my fun then hit me up.
- Thursday, March 29 - Had a day off so I could take care of some BTSA stuff. Which led to me being home slightly earlier than normal. So I got a relaxing afternoon. AND I got to see Third Day on Thursday night!!!
- Friday - Half day at school. Most of which was spent having an Easter party. Then got home, packed and off to So Cal!
- Saturday - Lounged around all morning then went to a wedding. At the risk of sounding conceited I looked pretty dang cute. And we had so much fun. There was a photo booth that we got crazy in. There was a random guy who tried to dirty dance with my grandma (you know I was watching for him the rest of the night). Plus we sat at the hotel bar for awhile afterward just chillin'.
- Sunday - Morning after get-together at someone's house. It was a BEAUTIFUL day so we chose to spend the rest of it at Disneyland. Always a wise decision if you ask me.
- Monday - California Adventure. It was another gorgeous day. Spent the whole day over there. Visited the preview center thing because it was all about Cars. I cried watching the video because I am apparently a total girl and cry about stupid crap now. But listening to the people talk about it... and I'm so excited to take Tad!!! We finally saw World of Color that night too. Please people, if you haven't gone you NEED TO. It was amazing.
- Tuesday - Morning at Disney... with my cousin!!! She was down with her boyfriend and we met up since we have somehow never been there together. We had stupid amounts of fun for only being there a few hours together. And I accomplished a goal... I WAS THE REBEL SPY ON STAR TOURS. See they redesigned it and now at the beginning you get stopped and a picture of the Rebel Spy (a random person from your ride group) gets flashed on the screen. Just the day before I had told hubby that my goal was to be the rebel spy. AND I TOTALLY WAS. I raised my arms and cheered. People laughed. Sadly we only spent the morning there because we had to head home.
- Wednesday - BASEBALL!!!! Hubby bought tickets for exhibition a couple months ago. We bought 14 together and just got a group of people. SO much fun. Especially because it was the A's vs. the Giants! I was actually torn about wearing my Oakland shirt. I think I might be turning into a full-blown Giants fan... but I wore it. And people said how cute it was that hubby and I are an interleague couple. And my A's won. WHAT?! I know. 8-1. Maybe that was a sign I shouldn't give up on them yet.

SERIOUSLY?!?!
I get home from church...
American Idol is not recording.
Seriously. Comcast had to resend a signal today because of an equipment issue (NO SURPRISE THERE JERKS!) and apparently it erased my programmed recordings.
Wow.
So I'm off to attempt to find performances online. Probably only Phillip. And so there won't be a blog. Because really... no.
Have a manicure, since I never got around to posting it this week...

5 Things
OHMYGOODNESS. Still not feeling totally recovered. I came home from work yesterday and took a three hour nap. No judging. Wait until you hear the breakdown of my weekend. I posted it on Facebook Sunday...
From Friday night to Sunday morning I spent 19 hours in high heels (like, the 4 inchers), 22 hours with the seester, three bars, one couch guest, and nine hours of sleep at night. I threw in a couple short naps for good measure. *whew* The sleep is what is still killing me. We got in at three in the morning once, then five in the morning the next day. That time change screwed us up there...
So what did I DO? Well lemme tell ya...
Five Things I Did This Weekend
This weekend? Much less festivities. Maybe trying to cheer up a newly single friend. Guess we'll have to see.

Five Things I Did This Weekend
- Celebrated mommy's birthday! Went to dinner and hung out a bit.
- Shopping with the sister. No major damage, just a couple cute little things.
- Met a lacrosse team. This was only unique because I have never met anyone who plays lacrosse. Cool people too. And funny.
- Met a super white guy with the most Hispanic last name ever. I obviously won't post it here, because what kind of creeper would I be telling you some random stranger's name? Just trust me, we didn't believe it was his name at first.
- People watching. People watching so hard. This is what we do at bars. I actually became famous among the people we were hanging out with for my people watching skills. They told me it was one of the fun parts of their night. If you want to be entertained, take me to Tower on a Friday or Saturday night. Or both. Just don't keep me out late.

Mama Bear
You don't have to be a mom to have a mama bear moment. I've been feeling fierce lately and after spending too much time online last night I decided to have some fun with one of my favorite internet memes...
If you don't get it... I'm sorry. I know hubby will get it and laugh. To start, one that I found that made me REALLY laugh. Hopefully y'all understand my love of GSP.
And here's the one that fierce mama bear/big sister Typhoid made...
I'm picky about the girls that hang around my little brother. Pretty much no one is good enough. Just sayin'... I'm sure you big sisters out there understand.
Sorry for the crap quality. My computer wanted to be a jerk so I went ahead and grabbed the pics with my phone for the blog. Good stuff. And it makes me smile. And hopefully you get it and smile too.

"She's got more than enough... to make some poor fool cry."
Random title, I know. Lyric from a song by my cousin's band. I woke up with it stuck in my head. There are worse things to be singing.
I've been slackin' lately. I just don't feel inspired to write about anything. And I do have pictures for the other blog page, but I doubt I have some from every day.
This weekend is more fun mixed with busy stuff. Hair appointment. Musical show with the ladies in my family. I have to dig out my sewing machine because I'm going to try and make a Jedi cloak. Because I'm officially helping with our local STAR WARS PUB CRAWL! It's gonna be legit. Look for me to be really excited about it and posting flyers and all.
Thursday, tomorrow is Friday. I'm really happy about this. I want my weekend right now.

Old School
I love having a buttload of music on my computer. I can hit a random list and see what pops up. This did last night.
What girl wasn't obsessed with this song in the 90's? I still have a massive girl crush on Gwen. And I can still sing every word to this song.
It's Thursday. And I'm half-done with conferences. And my break starts next week! We're off to cross something off my semi-forgotten 30 Before 30 list. Because let's face it, I'm not hitting all of those in less than a month. Famous for my procrastination...

5 Things
I actually did a lot this weekend. So here's a rundown...
5 Things I Did This Weekend
This band that I was talking about... LOVE them. I saw them once and was obsessed. They're just talented and super cool guys. So I was upstairs listening to them and my dad came out and listened to them for awhile and people were impressed/amused that I knew their songs and that was a total run on sentence. *whew* So when my dad and I were back downstairs we were sitting next to some of the guys at the bar and we chatted with the one right next to us. Well when he was ready for another drink my dad says, "Hey let me get your next beer. My daughter over here loves you guys."
Way to make me sound like a fangirl. *head smack*
But it was only one second of being embarrassed. And the day overall was pretty sweet. And since none of y'all have any clue who I've been talking about, how about some links?
The band I'm apparently a fangirl for: Poor Man's Poison
The shop owned by dad's friend and his wife: Bebe O's
You should probably just expect a picture of the fabulous shoes I bought at Bebe O's later this week. And you should go visit them. I love them to pieces.
5 Things I Did This Weekend
- Report cards. Yay. But they're done. And I didn't stay up late either!
- Went to a canned food drive in my favorite spot in Fresno.
- Saw a band I've only seen once and been dying to see again.
- Bought stuff to make my birthday invitations. And some centerpiece stuff.
- Bought some super cute shoes.

All In a Day Off...
I may have to start reviewing stuff I buy on here. Think it'll get me freebies? ;)
I bought super comfy (and cheap) shoes today. Plus some amazing chips. Plus I've been raving about my curling iron to anyone who will listen.
Write-ups may come soon. Not tomorrow, headed to a fundraiser/canned food drive. If you're local head down to Tower or text me and you can join me.

Excuses Are Like Armpits...
Yeah, yeah, yeah... but that doesn't mean I don't have one for you! I know I'm lame and I haven't been posting. But I'm sick. It's a cold, but it's trying its best to kick my arse. I took off work yesterday which I HATE doing because having a sub just throws my kids off.
Oh well.
So yeah, nose is red, I have man voice and I'm starting to cough (which usually means I'm almost done with the runny nose). I am SLEEPING all morning Saturday until I have to get ready for our school's auction. And hopefully by Monday I'll be fine. Because really, sick for a week with a cold is just weak.

Booooo
No, not like I scared you. Like, I don't like something.
Being a grown up is just no fun sometimes. You can't tell people what you really think of them, you can't post funny (okay, wrong) pictures to your Facebook, you can't use naughty language on your blog...
Can I pleeeeeease let someone know what I think of her? Just this once?

Super Coolnesssss
Yeah, I've been a bit sporadic. And it's bound to get worse. Just warnin' ya. I have a mall stop and then church tonight. Haunted house tomorrow night. Range date with some ladies from school on Friday. Halloween festivities on Saturday. Shooting on Sunday. Actual Halloween on Monday.
*whew*
But in my time spent on the interwebz, I found this yesterday. Some of you are bound to have seen it already. I've watched it twice. Both times the song was stuck in my head for hours. I will probably be singing it again this morning.
I wish I had enough money and boredom and money to do something like this.
Happy Wednesday. Halfway through our week!

Oh Randomness
Every once in a while I ask hubby if I could go blonde. He always says no. I wouldn't actually do it (unless of course someone paid for me to have it done professionally and then paid for me to go back if I hated it). But it's fun to try and picture myself blonde.
Also random and in the same subject of being blonde... I love Britney. No I don't have to put a last name because y'all should know who I mean. I wore a fedora last night and bumped Britney in the car. And secretly wished for blonde hair.
When I was younger (like, just out of high school up until 24 or so) people would randomly say I looked like Britney. My cousins said it all the time (so did their mom). I had a coworker call me Britney instead of Ashley for a period of time. He found himself amusing. Then there was the short period of time that Britney went brunette. There was a pic of her on a tabloid cover in her sunglasses and my oldest nephew (who was maybe 3 at the time) turns to me and says, "Tia Ashley, that looks like you." I laughed.
In non-blonde randomness I am having to deal with drama. At almost thirty years old. Ugh. Some people should just exit my life quickly and quietly. Or at least put their drama elsewhere so I can have fun. Because I'm pretty sure I grew out of "OMG my crush likes you so I'm going to HAAATE you" way back in high school. Seriously.
It's Thursday. Which means tomorrow is Friday. I'm hanging out with a friend. :) On Saturday I will see my little brother. And on Sunday... perhaps I'll actually rest.

5 Things
Better late than never... right? RIGHT???
Yesterday was a tough one for my family. My mom had to take our dog to be put down. He was 14 and has had several cancerous tumors over his life span. The last one was inside his mouth on his gums. When mom took him for surgery in June, the doctor warned her that they may not have gotten all of it. They didn't. It came back quick and poor baby was finally miserable. It actually looked like it wanted to burst or something. So we had to say bye. Obviously didn't leave me in a writing mood.
So in honor of my Josiah dog...
5 Favorite Memories of Josiah
I'll try for a happier post tomorrow.

5 Favorite Memories of Josiah
- ha, how about the day we got him. I NEVER had a pet growing up. I think my dad was against it more than my mom. And we never really pushed for one. But my sophomore year of high school we were playing mud football at church on Black Friday. And as everyone is leaving, my brother and I spot a puppy wandering around the field and church parking lot. He came right to us and he had the sweetest face. We convinced dad that GOD WANTED US to have this dog. And he came home with us. And stayed. :)
- Josiah always loved having his belly rubbed. You couldn't start petting him or even really get near him without him turning over on his back to beg for a belly rub.
- Josiah is an escape artist, even at 14 with bad hips he found a way to get out. When he was young he got out for an extended period of time. We freaked. We put up signs but nothing came back. Fast forward a few MONTHS and my mom sees a random "Found Dog" ad or sign or something. So she called the lady (who happened to live two blocks away). After the woman described Josiah she threw in, "He loves having his belly rubbed." And we knew. We got him back. :)
- Hubby and I had a pup a few years ago that we ended up adopting out to another family (long story). But not before he met Josiah. Josiah didn't like him. To the point that he jumped up on the picnic table outside because our baby couldn't reach him there. It was pretty funny. If dogs can give death looks, Josiah was giving one.
- Like I said, Josiah was old. He started limping and just moving like an old man. But when Tad was over and ready to play, the limp disappeared. He was just a puppy playing with a little boy.
I'll try for a happier post tomorrow.

Oops
Unplanned hiatus. Just when I don't think I can be busier - I am. So here's my manicure this week...
First: I'm aware baseball is over. But I was cold and this hat was handy.
Second, the nails are black and green with different angles stripes. Complete with silver glitter. I couldn't think of anything Halloweeny. I'll do better this week.
Over the last week I have had entirely too much fun with my aunt and cousin. To the point that our pastor may or may not think we're crazy. :) We all work with a children's group at church.
I need Halloween ideas. I have ideas, but costumes are getting smaller and I'm... well, I'm not. Plus the fact that I'm a little old for some of this stuff. Plus the fact that one of them (yes, I'll probably wear multiples) has to be church-appropriate.
I'm evil. The past week has only confirmed it.
It's Thursday already. This makes me so happy. I need some veg time this weekend. Badly.

Gotta Follow Up
I have another first world problem.
Facebook changed and me no likey.
Seriously. Do. Not. Want. I feel like I'm missing updates and stuff. And I'm completely aware of how selfish and "American" it is to complain about something optional and free. But oh well. No bueno.
Would you like some positivity for your Thursday?
Happy Thursday y'all.

- Tomorrow is Friday. Double yay-yuh!
Happy Thursday y'all.
