Almost Forgot!

So I meant to let my serious post about sending Tad to Kindergarten be it for today. For those of you wondering, I did it without actually crying. But I did tear up in the car.

Anywho, I totally forgot the cast of Dancing With the Stars was announced this morning!!! So for those of you who haven't seen the list yet, let's review...

Aaron Carter - He sings and acts apparently. To me, he's just Nick Carter's (from the Backstreet Boys) little brother.

Ashley Hamilton - I had no clue. I guess he writes songs. But I'm guessing most people are going to label him as "George Hamilton's kid."

Chuck Liddell - Okay, I have to admit that I shrieked when I saw his name. He's a HUGE part of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). I've watched him fight plenty of times and I love him. Hubby actually got to meet him at his place in SLO (he's from the area and still trains there). I'm totally pulling for him and hope he doesn't disappoint.

Debi Mazar - Actress, apparently in Entourage (which I don't watch so I didn't know that). She looks totally stoned in her picture on ABC's site.

Donny Osmond - *vomit* That's all I have to say about that.

Joanna Krupa - If you haven't heard of her, don't worry, I haven't either. And I'm pop culture obsessed! I guess she's a model. Meh.

Kathy Ireland - Dude, how old is she now? She still looks good, I'll give her that. Used to be a model, now has some massive company that involves selling clothes at K-Mart.

Kelly Osbourne - Really? Okay then.

Louie Vito - A pro snowboarder. I don't follow snowboarding so I haven't heard of the guy. He looks all of twelve years old.

Macy Gray - Singer. I know one of her songs. Her voice is super-raspy so I couldn't enjoy her AT ALL.

Mark Dacascos - Super kung-fu actor dude. He hosted Iron Chef which is how most people will know him. He's "Manny" to me because the first thing I saw him in was Brotherhood of the Wolf. In which he was pretty (pardon the language) kickass. I like him.

Melissa Joan Hart - A.K.A. Sabrina the Teenage Witch or Clarissa Explains It All. Dude I totally dated myself by mentioning Clarissa didn't I?

Michael Irvin - Used to be a football player. Meaning he'll probably be pretty decent. Most football players are.

Mya - Dude, she was singing when I was in high school. And the first thing I think of when I see her is Ghetto Superstar. Do you guys remember that song?! I'm going to go download it now...

Natalie Coughlin - Olympic gold medalist swimmer. That's all I know. She's cute, if that helps.

Tom DeLay - A politician? Hmmm...

If you want to go read the actual mini-bios here's the link. Picture slideshow and everything. I'm honestly excited for Chuck Liddell. I really hope he can dance. And I can't wait for hubby to call his buddy John (who introduced them) and see if he's giving him a bad time yet. Although, would you tease a guy who fights in the UFC?

Oh Reality TV...

So Dancing ended tonight. With a COMPLETE surprise. Shawn won. My mom and I were shocked and gasped. Hubby uttered a "srsly?" (Thanks lol speak.)

And mom and I watched Idol together. We missed the first twenty minutes (the first two performances) which didn't matter since they were just songs they had done before. Great choice by both of them on those songs! Adam picked Mad World again, Kris picked Ain't No Sunshine. LOVED both of those the first time around and would likely call them my favorite performances.

Round two, I liked Adam better than Kris. Kris did seem a little too... meh for a finale.

Then there was round three. Or the round that I would call "What did these people write and did they even let Adam and Kris rehearse before performing???" I'm not usually a big fan of the songs written for the finale. Most are too, "Listen to me! I'm uplifting and beautiful!" This one was totally NOT something I enjoyed. The fact that this wasn't a great song was proved by the fact that ADAM WAS ACTUALLY PITCHY. For the first time this season, Adam wasn't good. And then... Kris wasn't either. Mom and I were sitting there with semi-confused looks on our faces. I actually said, "If I was only watching these performances, there's no way I would believe we were watching a finale."

So I have no clue who's going to win. If people vote based on the entire season and take this semi-disappointing face-off out of the running, I would say Adam. But there are tons of reasons that I think Kris may win. So I have NO PREDICTION. I will say that I hope tomorrow night's results are a hundred times better than tonight's performances.

Fingers crossed.

Dancing - The Finals

Honestly, it's about time. I don't know what it is, but I don't know if I was feelin' it this season like I used to. And I'm kind of ready to have my Monday nights back. Although FOX will probably air So You Think You Can Dance on those nights...

They're starting off with each couple dancing the paso doble. And since the judges want to prove to America that they know something, each judge will visit and coach a couple through it.

And of course the dancing doesn't start until AFTER the first commercial. Hello time-wasting.

Shawn and Mark look good. I always feel like I'm watching a little kid when I'm watching Shawn. She just looks like such a baby. Judges' score: 28

Melissa and Tony were good, like always. I don't know if I was wowed. Judges' score: 29

Gilles and Cheryl were hot. But I've made it known that Gilles has become my favorite. I'm just really impressed with the way he can pass for a pro at times. It's the clean lines he makes with his arms. Judges' score: 30

So now we get to the freestyles! Those can be fun, no clue what to expect from these couples.

Shawn and Mark are up first. Okay, the garbage bag outfits were freakin' me out (as Tad would say). She actually looks like she's having a lot of fun, which is cute. They're super cute, and fun. And making me tired just watching them. But honestly... I've seen more impressive ones. Judges' score: 30

Melissa and Tony are up now. Tony's shirt is totally gay, I just have to say it. And this song is so amazingly old it takes me back... it was fun. There were a ton of tricks and lifts and throws, but I don't know if I loved it. I felt like there were more tricks than actual recognizable steps. Judges' score: 27

And now are Gilles and Cheryl. Okay, Cheryl just creates fun routines. OMG, he had such a Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing moment!!!! I loved it, I smiled from beginning to end. He needs to win. So cute. Judges' score: 28

Okay, it's obvious, but I want Gilles to win. He's totally consistent and amazing. I'm going to miss the finale tomorrow (I can only watch/record two things at once, and this is at the bottom of the totem pole). But I'll catch highlights for sure.

Woo Hoooo!

So today was Tad's birthday, but that warrants its own post. It was a pretty good day though.

Hey Heather, your comment to my mom totally worked some magic! Lil Kim is gone from dancing!!!

I'm pretty stoked over here. Are we sure it isn't MY birthday???

So Idol was tonight too. We watched it at mom's house so my rundown will be briefer than usual. It was rock and roll night though. Which made me super excited to see Allison and Adam. Had me wondering about Kris and Danny though. They also introduced a new thing tonight: duets. As soon as I heard that I had to start hoping that Allison and Adam would be paired up.

So let's get to it.

First of all, Slash (don't you dare ask "who?") was the mentor this week. For years now people have been telling my brother that he looks like Slash (that and Howard Stern). So as soon as I saw Slash on the screen I asked Tad, "Hey, who is that?" He looked up and in about two seconds said, "Hey, that's Nick." Haha... made our night.

Adam was first, sang some Led Zepplin (which I love). He of course was FANTASTIC! My mom and I discussed that he just too... flaming glamorous for us. Some jokes ensued. But we all agreed (even hubby) that he was great.

Allison followed, singing some Janis Joplin. I liked her. But this was the perfect week for her, so why wouldn't I like her? Not all the judges loved her, but since when do I actually tune into what they're saying?

There was a random conversation about Paula's drug use when my mom made a crack about how she talks too much and has to be on something. Random conversation continued about how useless she has been this season.

Next was the first duet: Kris and Danny. I said, "Neither of them can dirty it up enough to be rock and roll. I had to go look up their song just to remember what it was... some STYX!!! Which my mom was stoked about. Together they sounded great, but they just aren't quite rockers. They were good, but nowhere near great.

Kris sang some Beatles after that, and honestly... not good. I mean, okay. But so forgettable. As far as memorable goes, he's at the bottom tonight. It's nicer looking at him than listening to him at times. Because he is pretty stinkin' cute. And he just does better singing the sappy love songs.

Danny sang... good God... Aerosmith. And not just Aerosmith, but Dream On. That's right. Now that I think about it, Adam could probably have done that song justice. Danny was good for the first couple lines, then my dad said, "Nope" and I had to agree. (Just in case you care, my dad is the one who gets all the credit for getting me into Aerosmith at a youngish age. I credit him with my good taste in rock music.) Then came the part where Steven Tyler would do some "controlled musical screaming" (hubby and I just came up with that term). Um, I actually felt bad for Danny at that point. It sounded like it would cause some serious pain.

Then to make up for that, we got Adam and Allison singing some Foghat. Awwww yeah. Tad quit listening to his book and WATCHED them. He loves him some Slow Ride. And he loved Allison with her "purple hair." They were awesome, but you kind of expected them to be. The general consensus of the house was that yeah, they killed.

So tomorrow night, I will be recording and actually watching because we have CHRIS DAUGHTRY AND NO DOUBT! *sigh* for Chris and *enthusiastic clapping and bouncing* for No Doubt. As far as who goes home... I have to say Danny or Kris. I'll go with Kris because he's kind of coasting for me at this point. At least Danny has impressed me a lot the past couple weeks.

Dancing Week 9

I'm a bit behind tonight, just got back from a birthday party. So now I'm catching up. And I know I haven't blogged in a bit. I've been dealing with my own stuff lately...

Tonight each couple gets two dances. And I'm still bitter that Chuck and Julianne got voted out last week. Grrr...

Shawn and Mark - quickstep - GREAT SONG CHOICE! Haha... from Aladdin. They look pretty good too. I just love Mark though. He always looks like he's having a ton of fun. Judges' score: 27

Ty and Chelsie - Argentine tango - He's really good at the sharp movements. Hubby is sitting here totally impressed with him. He has improved by a hundred times. They looked good. Judges' score: 25

Lil Kim and Derek - waltz - I'm torn between "boooo" and "yawn." So OVER her. Seriously America, send her home! Her dress is a bit distracting to me tonight. Wardrobe should have put her in something more flowy and pretty. The florals just don't fit the dance. But they look good. I wouldn't call it great. Judges' score: 25

Gilles and Cheryl - fox trot - LOOOOVE this song. They look good. Like, GOOD. But I think I'm totally biased for Gilles. *sigh* Yeah, pretty much LOVED them. Judges' score: 29

Melissa and Tony - Viennese waltz - Haha, hubby commented on Melissa's see-through skirt portion. Leave it to a man... they're good. But I pretty much love Tony so... Judges' score: 27

Ummm, so is Dancing morphing into Idol? There's a whole lot of needless filler tonight...

So now we have the Latin round and the stars have to have a solo in their dance.

Shawn and Mark - paso doble - Shawn KILLS at the poses with her arms. I really like this one. She's so cute it's weird seeing her all serious and mean. Judges' score: 29

Ty and Chelsie - rumba - EEEEE!!! LOVE THIS SONG TOO! Who doesn't love Tom Petty? And Tad looooves Chelsie right now! She just earned an "OOOH!" Ty's not doing too bad with the hip action. Oh, then his solo came and I spoke too soon. But he totally danced up to Jewel (his wife for those that don't know) and it was cute. Judges' score: 21

Lil Kim and Derek - salsa - *gag* The dance was good, but I'm not sure it was great. She started making weird faces again. WHAT IS UP WITH THE FACES?! And she just writhed on the floor for her solo. Um, not impressed. Judges' score: 27

Gilles and Cheryl - rumba - Ohhhh my. Gilles could give Ty a couple tips about the rumba. Holy cow I want to be Cheryl. And I'll leave it at that... Judges' score: 27

Melissa and Tony - samba - I liked it, but I think I was expecting a little more. The dance was really good, I just couldn't figure out what it was that I was expecting from them. And hubby noted that she was about to have a wardrobe malfunction with the left breasticle area. And she was TOTALLY embarrassed about it. Judges' score: 30

Alright, so obviously Ty should be the one to go home tomorrow. I love him and all, but he's just not the best dancer.

Dancing Week 8

So tonight there's a dance for each couple, plus a team dance. Which I think they tried for the first time last season, but don't quote me on that.

Here's hoping Lil Kim goes home this week...

Oh, Melissa isn't here this week. Apparently she got hurt or aggravated something that was already there. They'll explain further later. I wish they would just get that stuff out of the way at the beginning.

Gilles and Cheryl - lindy hop - Okay, so the hair department succeeded in making him un-hot. But the dance looked good. He gets serious air on his jumps. And the lifts were fun. Judges' score: 27

Lil Kim and Derek - paso doble - I really don't understand how people can cheer so wildly for her. Apparently I'm the only one who just can't get past her previous... um... we'll call them bad choices. But the dance was good. She stayed serious for it and the whole thing looked good. Judges' score: 28

Chuck and Julianne - cha cha cha - Chuck looks totally confident again, good sign! And they look really good again! I so hope he continues to get better. I'd love for them to stick around. Judges' score: 26

Shawn and Mark - samba - She looked like she started about a half beat later than she was supposed to, but she caught up quick. Hubby said it looked like she was too conscious of her arms during the dance. Then he questioned his sexuality for noticing such a thing. I thought they looked good, but it wasn't their best. Judges' score: 27

*So I guess Melissa hurt her ribs last week and then made it worse this week during practice. She rehearsed, but the pain got worse and she couldn't perform. So now we get to watch her rehearsal. Two things that have nothing to do with the dance: 1) yeah, she totally has a tramp stamp 2) her pants are OBSCENELY low. I don't wanna know how much waxing is involved in wearing those pants. The judges scored the dance with 21.

Ty and Chelsie - salsa - Poor Ty. The cowboy is expected to salsa? Wow, his hips are actually moving! He's a little hunched though. But he still looks a thousand times better than he did at the beginning. Hubby is actually really enjoying him I think. And Ty looks like he's having fun, he doesn't have the nervous look that's usually there. Judges' score: 24

So the first team dance is mambo. Team Mambo is Chuck, Melissa, Shawn and their partners. Lacey is stepping in for Melissa. Of course Lacey and Tony looked good, they're both pros. Shawn and Mark were good, but Shawn didn't look like she was totally into it at some points. Chuck and Julianne were cute. The whole dance was pretty good. Team score: 25

The second team was Team Tango. This team is Gilles, Lil Kim, Ty and their partners. The choreography is really good. It helps that I'm totally partial to the tango. Ty didn't look quite as good to me as he did in his salsa. But of course Gilles killed it. He's just awesome. I think I liked it better than the mambo, but like I said, I love a good tango. Team score: 28

Tomorrow, I think Ty will be in the bottom and possibly go home. With him? I'm gonna hope against hope and say Lil Kim.

Dancing Results

Thank you interwebz, for giving me the info I want without having to watch the shows.

LT is out. Let's all cross our fingers for Lil Kim making an exit soon...

See you later with my Idol recap.

Dancing - Quickie Version

Because you all watched it last night I'll keep it short. But I am still posting because you all know you want to know what I think...

Melissa and Tony - Argentine tango - They looked good. No surprise there. Her hair was a bit weird for me. Judges' score: 29

Lawrence and Edyta - waltz - I'm pretty amused that LT totally covered her up this week. He said he would last week, it's just funny to see. And they used JOURNEY! Automatic favorite dance of the night. Don't ask me about my weirdness for Journey, just go with it. Oh, and she got rid of the jacket. And hubby is singing to me. Badly. We're twisted. Oh, but you're here for dancing... they're good. LT is actually pulling off the graceful aspect. Judges' score: 21

Lil Kim and Derek - rumba - Hubby brought up a valid point. "Why don't they call her 'ex-con Lil Kim? I haven't heard her rap in... a few years now.'" Time for my weekly rant about how gross she is. *sigh* If she wins I'm going to have serious issues here. And the drapeyness on that dress is NOT doing her rear end any favors... AND WHY CAN'T SHE CLOSE HER MOUTH?!! The choreography is good, props to Derek. It was alright, but I didn't love it. That could totally be my distaste for Lil Kim, Queen of Nip Slips. Judges' score: 26

Chuck and Julianne - samba - Ahhhh Chad Hicks. I heart him. I do NOT heart the head-to-toe red this week. HOLY COW! He looks DAMN GOOD this week! LOVED it! Len totally called it his best dance too!!! I'm very excited about this... Judges' score: 27 Just gotta throw in a quick WOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!

Ty and Chelsie - waltz - Chelsie looks cute, like she's going to prom or something. They were good, but not quite great. But they were cute anyway. Judges' score: 24

Shawn and Mark - cha cha cha - Mark is the cutest. MP, if you're reading this, I want you to find him and marry him! Okay, and this dance is seriously cute/fun/great. Loved it. They're great. Judges' score: 28

Gilles and Cheryl - Viennese waltz - I have to say it: Gilles looks gooood in his swim shorts. He's just great. He has a pretty frame, his movements look good, and I'm sure women everywhere are wishing he could be the next James Bond. If he was, I'd go see it in a second. And I don't even like James Bond! But yeah, the dancing was great. Judges' score: 27

And then there was the group dance. No scores, just for fun.
  • Julianne and Chelsie are totally cute
  • Lil Kim should have an easy time on her go-go podium, familiar territory much?
  • Poor Chuck, that wig is tragic
  • Ty and Chelsie really went through with the bull-riding move!
  • Tony and Mark are so into it and adorable

The choreography was fun. I don't know if anyone totally stood out to me. But it was good.

The bottom two tonight: I say Ty and LT. I don't know if either of them stood out enough. Although Lil Kim definitely didn't stand out either, so maybe she finally has a shot as GOING AWAY. We'll find out.

Dancing Week 6

Alrighty, this week the couples are doing the rumba or the jive. Random note... I was watching George of the Jungle yesterday and Samantha Harris was one of the girls checking out George at the fancy party. Just thought I'd throw that out there...

Ty and Chelsie - jive - Ty looks a little less stiff this week. He's actually pretty decent at the whole bouncing around thing. He totally lost his steps at one point though. But he was pretty quick about recovering so hopefully they won't be too hard on him. Judges' score: 18

Shawn and Mark - rumba - It's weird seeing Shawn be serious. She's normally so smiley and cute! But I really liked their dance. They're just cute together. Judges' score: 26

Lawrence and Edyta - jive - I don't know if it was as fun as a jive should be. It felt kind of slow and not very exciting. Not bad at all, just not terribly exciting. Judges' score: 22

Melissa and Tony - rumba - Every week I check to see if they've got a blingy tramp stamp on Melissa. This week we have one. Anyone know if she's got something there and they're just trying to hide it? Oh, and their dance was really good. I'd call it best of the night so far. Judges' score: 27

Lil Kim and Derek - jive - *yawn* OVER her. It's not even worth going into the issues I have with her. The dance was fun. I did find it more than a little ironic that she was the cop. Riiiiight... HA! Her little pasty is popping out of the top of her little outfit. That makes me laugh. What's funny is they are now keeping the camera on her face to avoid the little wardrobe issue. Judges' score: 28

Steve-O and Lacey - rumba - Steve-O doing the rumba makes me laugh. I can't picture him being romantic at all! His hands are a little stiff and flat when he extends his arms. But at least he's staying serious and not busting up laughing. And it wasn't bad. Judges' score: 16

Gilles and Cheryl - jive - He has super long legs. His kicks look pretty good. I really liked the choreography, Cheryl did a good job. The dance was fun. Judges' score: 26

Chuck and Julianne - rumba - One would hope it would be easy to find the necessary romance when you're dancing with your significant other. I liked it. It did seem like a lot of showing Julianne off, but I liked it. Judges' score: 23

Dancing Week 5

It's Monday again! Time for more dancing! And tonight the stars are dancing the Viennese waltz (which my friend Steven accidentally called the Vietnamese waltz once) or the paso doble. I love me a waltz. And the paso doble... holy cow it's awesome.

Chuck and Julianne - Viennese waltz - I have to get out my weekly comment about how there are the cutest couple ever. I'll be sad if they break up one day. and I can't help but notice that they use country songs a lot. One more reason they're just cute. Oh, you want to know how they danced? I liked it. Chuck has the fluid movements down and he looked really good. *Side note: who cares about Heather Mills and was it really necessary to show her in the audience?!* Judges' score: 23

Lawrence and Edyta - paso doble - One would assume that he would have no problem with the power and aggressiveness, but he was in rehearsals. The performance was good, but there were a couple points where he seemed really stiff. Judges' score: 20

Shawn and Mark - Viennese waltz - They were good. She was cute and graceful and just pretty. It made me miss ballroom class because my buddy and I would swoop around the whole floor during the waltz. They were just seriously good. Judges' score: 26

Melissa and Tony - paso doble - Melissa has trouble not smiling. She didn't exactly look angry the whole time, and I did catch her smile once. But the dance was good. Even if she wasn't as aggressive as Tony had tried to get her to be. Judges' score: 25

DAG and Kym - Viennese waltz - I have a hard time accepting his serious face. It's just not natural. But I liked their dance. It wasn't perfect. DAG looked a little stiff, and not too fluid at some points. Judges' score: 22

Gilles and Cheryl - paso doble - I was RIDICULOUSLY excited when I found out they were doing the paso doble. I have a little bit of a crush I think... and holy crap, he was shirtless at the beginning. His lines were amazing, he had the attitude, he ROCKED. Applause went on forever so I'm guessing I'm not the only one who thought so. Judges' score: 29 (I totally knew it would come out that way, stupid Len)

Steve-O and Lacey - Viennese waltz - Knoxville, Wee Man and Jeff Tremaine showed up at rehearsal. Which of course gave us some good moments. Steve-O's mime at the beginning was cute. He was good at it. He was too hunched though, and his shoulders weren't quite squared enough. Don't know if that's because of his back or if he just didn't get this one. Judges' score: 18

Ty and Chelsie - paso doble - Wow. He actually looked pretty good. His arm movements were a bit stiff, but he had the posture and the attitude. Give Ty more manly dances! Judges' score: 21

Lil' Kim and Derek - Viennese waltz - I posed the question on my Twitter, and I'll do the same here: who is voting for her??? Prison and nipple exposure people. Is that what you want for the winner of this show? She was making some kind of strange faces during the dance. And she needed to close her mouth. But the dance itself was good, I have to admit. I'm surprised at how graceful she is when I grew up with her skankin' it up in nipple tassels and funky colored wigs. Judges' score: 26

Dancing Results

Two were going to be eliminated tonight...

AND STEVE-O WAS SAFE!!!

Holly and Woz left. Which means Steve-O will probably be next week. Because, let's face it, he's not going to offer Gilles and Melissa serious competition.

Dancing Week 4

I'm very excited about this week. The couples are doing the lindy hop (which I've done) and the Argentine tango (I LOVE the tango).

DAG and Kym - lindy hop - This was the perfect dance for DAG. He's so expressive and this is a really big, kicky, fun dance. They were really cute. A couple of his kicks looked like they didn't extend all the way, but the whole thing looked really good. It made me want to dance! Judges' score: 22

Lil Kim and Derek - Argentine tango - Honest question: does she put on that ridiculous baby voice? It's always annoyed me. But they looked good. If people are actually voting for the dance and not the person, she should be safe. Judges' score: 27 Boo. They got the first 10 of the season. It wasn't a 10.

Chuck and Julianne - lindy hop - I have to say, they looked absolutely adorable in their costumes. I love them. He wasn't quite as hoppy and peppy as Julianne, but who is? They were still good. That's a super fast, and super hard dance. Judges' score: 22

Lawrence and Edyta - Argentine tango - Good. It seemed like the dance showed her off more than him, but I think that's the case with this dance. He did some awesome lifts. And it was a good performance. Judges' score: 19

Ty and Chelsie - lindy hop - I was really worried about whether or not he'd be able to loosen up for this dance. But he looked pretty good. Not quite as loose as he should be, but WOW his jumps and lifts were great. He actually looked like he was having fun too. You can still see him anticipating the next move on his face, but he looked really good anyway. Judges' score: 25

Steve and Karina - Argentine tango - They looked pretty decent, but there wasn't the emotion that the judges were looking for. He looked bored more than anything since his smileyness wasn't allowed in the tango. The judges are finally cluing in that he's not great too. Judges' score: 12

Melissa and Tony - lindy hop - I talked to a friend last week and found out she's buying into what ABC wants. She likes Melissa because she feels sorry for her. I'm still not buying into the feeling sorry thing. I'll say she's good, but not because I feel bad for her. They were pretty good, but when she pumped her fists I pictured her with pom poms. It made me laugh. The lifts were great, Tony is awesome. But there were a lot of them, possibly more than necessary... Judges' score: 29 (Second and third 10's of the season, and the highest score of the season.)

Holly and Dmitry - Argentine tango - She's dancing with some injured ribs currently. Another one falls to the strange curse of the show... Dmitry was lookin' hot though. The whole start of the routine on the stool looked like it didn't go so smoothly. She was still too stiff. And looked like she forgot some steps. If she would just loosen up she might be good! It's very frustrating. Judges' score: 16

Steve-O and Lacey - lindy hop - Lacey looks so cute, she rocked a Katy Perry look for the dance. And we all know she's my biggest girl crush. Steve-O looked like he was still holding back a bit at the beginning. It can't be easy to be super bouncy when you're getting over a back injury. But he looked like he was trying, and having fun. Always good. Judges' score: 15 ( I totally spotted Bam's parents and Knoxville in the audience.)

Gilles and Cheryl - Argentine tango - Ohhhh holy crap. I think I have a new crush. They were just... wow. Hubby looked at my face and just said, "What?" It was amazing. I wanted to be Cheryl. And Carrie Ann fanned herself. That's how I feel. Just, wow. Am I right, ladies??? Judges' score: 30 (I so called a perfect score. I told hubby, just ask him.)

Shawn and Mark - lindy hop - Mark's legs move like rubber. They were pretty good. Lots of lifts, flips and such that used Shawn's strengths. Judges' score: 25

There's a double elimination tonight. I think Woz will be in the bottom again. And possibly Steve-O. Besides them, maybe Holly. I'm not sure. You can never tell with the voters.

Lame

American Idol isn't on tonight. I didn't know this until a couple hours ago. So now I sit watching Veggie Tales with the kid. Not that I mind. I kind of love Veggie Tales. Especially Larry.

In other news, wanna know who leaves Dancing tonight?

It's Denise.

I was wrong about the bottom two though. I thought it would be Woz and Denise. But it was actually Holly and Denise. So there's that. Don't know if you'll see a blog besides Idol tomorrow. Just depends. I have laundry to do, a job fair outfit to pick out, a kid to entertain, and church. Plenty to keep me busy.

PS - I'm finally starting to get nervous about the job fair. I don't know why, I'm normally a pretty good interviewer. Just typical nerves.

Dancing Week 3

So I had to set the DVR and I'm only watching it right now. We went to mom's for dinner, I had to give the kid a bath, put clothes away, change the sheets on our bed... But we're good to go now! And this week the stars had to learn the fox-trot or the samba. So let's begin...

Denise and Maksim - samba - Denise's dress looks like a prom dress. Actually her hair looks a little modern prom-ish too. Not quite loving it. She looks like she still isn't clear on what they're doing. The movements aren't very fluid and it's almost painful to watch them tonight. Bruno nailed it when he called it "flat." Judges' score: 16

Chuck and Julianne - fox-trot - I just have to remind everyone that they are possibly the cutest couple out there. And I'm LOVING Julianne's dress tonight. And WOW Chuck looks excellent! I'm impressed. Judges' score: 23

Holly and Dmitry - samba - Holly looks like Samba Barbie tonight. I'm serious, she looks like she just came out of a box. She looks like she may be improving, but she's still stiff a lot of the time. And you can tell when she's concentrating/anticipating the next move too much. She just doesn't look coordinated enough. Judges' score: 17

Steve-O and Lacey - fox-trot - Thank God he's back! And I totally spotted Pontius in the audience! hee hee... He actually looks pretty good considering he's probably still in pain. And he totally had a mess up. But he still tried and looked pretty good. Judges' score: 15

Lawrence and Edyta - samba - This may just be his best dance so far. He's shimmying and totally having fun doing it. He also looks super comfortable, which goes a long way in scoring. Judges' scores: 20

Shawn and Mark - fox-trot - Shawn was struggling in practice with making her movements fluid instead of the sharp movements of gymnastics. And she totally pulled it off in the dance. Mostly. She did have a couple little movements that looked sharp. But she also looked SUPER GOOD! Judges' score: 27

Gilles and Cheryl - samba - Okay, he can seriously shake his butt. They look really good. I can see them getting the top score tonight. And Cheryl may just have a shot at winning another season... Judges' score: 27 (so they're tied with Shawn and Mark)

David and Kym - fox-trot - DAG looks pretty good in the beginning. He's extending his arms well, throwing in some nice kicks, I'm pretty impressed. He didn't look uncomfortable or lost or anything. He looked really good! Judges' score: 24 (wow!)

Woz and Karina - samba - So now Woz pulled his hamstring. Will the curse of this show never end? He looks like he's being a little careful, which is understandable. But he doesn't look as confident as he has the last two weeks and the injury definitely shows in his performance. Judges' score: 10

Melissa and Tony - fox-trot - Of course they look good. Is there anything else you expected me to say? I heart Tony. And Melissa has been good from the start. She even projects well with her expressions. Judges' score: 27 (a third couple tied for first)

Lil Kim and Derek - samba - Her little squeals and screams are grating on my nerves. She makes a lot of faces when she dances, a couple of them are distracting. Her feet and everything look like they should though. I just have an issue with ABC putting an ex-con who flashes her girly bits and sings some naaasty songs. Judges' score: 25

Ty and Chelsie - fox-trot - Ty looks so cute in his little top hat. Chelsie totally slipped though. But Ty didn't flinch. I can see him doing well with the ballroom dances, possibly not as good with the Latin. But he looked good tonight. Carrie Ann totally said it when she told him how impressed she was with how he handled Chelsie's slip. Judges' score: 23

I think the bottom will be Woz and Denise this week. Just a thought, I have no idea really.

Dancing Results

Alright, I have the show set to DVR so I can watch Idol right now and skip through all the filler of Dancing results later. But good ol' Comcast has given me the results again.

The bottom two were Woz and Belinda Carlisle. Both couples danced, and Belinda is the first to leave.

Apparently Steve-O was back tonight and is cleared to dance next week. Woohooooo!

Go here for the full article reviewing tonight's results.

**EDIT**

So Big Bad Voodoo Daddy performed. I kind of love them. And the dancers were super fun.

Steve-O is back. Let's hope he doesn't hurt himself again.

Dancing Week 2

So Steve-O is out?! Details to come later in the show apparently. For now, the other dancers... (and yes, I'm blogging as I watch tonight)

Holly and Dmitry were up first, dancing a quick step. Holly looks better than she did last week. But still not great. That's really all I have to say about her I guess.

*Is it me, or did the judges numbers get blingier? Did I not notice it before?*

David (DAG) and Kym are up. DAG kills me, saying Bruno needs subtitles. So true sometimes. They're dancing salsa this week (one of my faves). He's pretty animated in the face again, but I'm not finding it distracting. He actually looks pretty good! I'm definitely enjoying him.

Denise and Maks are going to quick step tonight. She doesn't look tranny tonight, so she has that going for her. It looks a little slow for a quick step. Meh. There was something about it that wasn't quite flowing.

Belinda and Jonathan are following. They have salsa tonight. Okay, now I'm seeing where she's lookin' plastic. They started off pretty good, but as it's going on I don't think it looks as good. She looked like she was having fun though, that's always a plus.

Awww, Ty and Chelsea are up next. I love Ty, I really hope he does well tonight. He has the quick step, which I'm having trouble picturing. He actually does look pretty good. It doesn't look like he's having trouble keeping up tonight. I liked it!

Shawn and Mark are doing salsa tonight. And it's really funny to watch Shawn be uncomfortable with the butt-shakin'. Her arms look to stiff sometimes, it's her gymnastics coming out. But they were pretty good. It helps that she's little and stinkin' cute.

So Woz hurt himself, but he's still dancing. Karina's shoes are distracting me, they're not cute. Actually, for an injured old computer guy Woz is looking pretty decent. There were definitely some parts where he wasn't quite keeping up, but they looked cute.

I heart Chuck and Julianne. They're the cutest. He's totally embarrassed doing the salsa and their practices are super cute. Oh I HATE Julianne's pants. Horrible. But aside from the pants, I am loving their dance.

Oooh, Nathan Fillion is in the audience. He makes me *sigh.*

LT and Edyta are up. Edyta is wearing a whole lot of sheer (*fake surprised face*). I'd seriously kill puppies to have her abs. They look good. He's totally better than last week.

Steve-O is out this week, as I mentioned. During dress rehearsal he landed on his mic pack and tweaked his back. I read last week that he had messed up some nerves in his back already (see what drugs will do kids?) so I guess this made it worse? The official rules let us see the dress rehearsal though, and base his scores on that.

Of course watching the dress rehearsal it's pretty obvious he was in pain the whole time. He was super stiff and the camera caught him wincing a couple times. Apparently the hospital hasn't given a full report yet, but nothing is broken at least.

Ugh, Lil Cootie and Derek are up. I find it really hard to not be biased here. She's making a kind of weird face and keeping her mouth open. Other than that she actually looks pretty good though. Unfortunately.

So Melissa and Tony are up and I have a confession. Melissa is cute and all, but I think most of her votes are sympathy votes for getting dumped and I'm just not buying into that. I understand she got dumped, but just about everyone walking this planet has. So there's that. Now onto the dance. i can see her cheerleader moves coming out and it's kind of funny. She has an advantage having done ballet and being a "pro" cheerleader.

And last of the night are Gilles and Cheryl. Last week he did well at being sexy, and now this week he has to be classy. I think I'm kinda crushing on him. And he's totally sporting the Clark Kent glasses tonight to go with their song, Kryptonite! Love it!! Great finish to the night! He even ended the dance with ripping his shirt and jacket open.

Alright, we'll see who leaves tomorrow night. I have to get voting over here.

Dancing is BACK!

Yes, one of my favorites, Dancing With the Stars, returned last night. How stoked was I? Very. Of course as soon as the show started, my mom and I had to comment about how Samantha (the co-host) is looking FAR too skinny. She needs to eat a sandwich or three. Or five.

I caught the beginning at my mom's house. Which was a treat because my brother was there. So I got some commentary from him. The two of us cheered (loudly) when they introduced Steve-O and D.A.G.

The first dance was Lil Kim. Poor Derek Hough got partnered with her. My brother made the comment, "Oh, well, now he has herpes." That earned the laughs from the rest of us. Her dancing wasn't bad. I actually hoped she would be awful. Now I just have to hope that the voting public will be disturbed at her music and image away from the show.

Belinda Carlisle was next. She's dancing with... Jonathan. Had to think to remember his name. Mom compared her to Priscilla Presley in the amount of work that they've both had done. She also wasn't great yet, but what do you expect? It's the first week.

LT got partnered with Edyta this season - always a good thing. Edyta does great work with her partners. Sadly they weren't great yet. But I have high hopes for him. The football players just tend to do well. And again, he's partnered with Edyta. That's points in his favor.

I'm so happy I didn't have to wait for the next contestant long... it was time for Steve-O!!! Knoxville and Wee Man were there to watch. Hilarious to me that they have to blur out some of his more... questionable tattoos. I laughed because I know exactly what they are. But his dancing... well, actually not horrible. He was definitely stiff. But you could see that he was at least trying. I'm voting for him tonight. You should do the same.

Gilles Marini was up next. He's partnered with Cheryl, who I kind of love. I guess his "stardom" is the result of being nekkid in the Sex and the City movie. Yay for him. He was actually pretty good. If people vote for him he'll be around for a good while.

And next up was Chuck Wicks with Julianne. They're super cute together. I'm all for them as a couple. Last night they looked like they were going to prom. It was way cute. And Chuck is kind of a goof, which makes them amusing. They had a waltz (my fave) and looked REALLY good. He didn't look totally comfortable and awesome, but good for a first performance.

Now we found out one of the replacements for the two injured stars who dropped out. Holly Madison. Yeah, that Holly Madison of Girls Next Door. She got partnered with a new dancer, Dmitry. He's totally from So You Think You Can Dance. And I heart him more than a little. He makes me sigh. She looked like she was just walking around, he looked GOOOOOD. Is there a way I can vote for Dmitry and not Holly?

And then we found out the other replacement. Melissa from The Bachelor. I didn't get into it this season, so I'm not biased for her. But she didn't dance next.

We got Ty Murray with Chelsea Hightower (also from the other dancing show). He was so stiff in their practice sessions. It was cute. Actually, his dancing reminded me of hubby's. He did pretty decent. He was definitely stiff and nervous, but it was a cute stiff and nervous. I liked him anyway. Because you could tell he was legitimately trying.

Shawn Johnson was up next and she's dancing with Mark Ballas this season. I love Mark! He's just so cute! They're pretty cute together. They had a waltz last night and I think she killed it. Of course being a gymnast is probably a HUGE help. But they were great. She'll be around for a while because I don't think people are over her cuteness from the Olympics.

And next we came to Steve Wozniak. With Karina. Who made me laugh when she said she can make anyone sexy. Good luck with that this season... Hubby wins COMMENT OF THE NIGHT. "He totally looks like the Cowardly Lion!" Epic win. But on to the dancing, he actually didn't suck. He wasn't great, but he didn't suck.

Sadly I realized that David Alan Grier is best known for In Living Color. I did NOT enjoy that show. He has Kym this season. Poor thing can't tell when he's joking or when he's serious. I loved it. Hubby and I were laughing the whole time they were showing the practice sessions. Even his serious face made us laugh throughout the dance. There were a few stumbles, but he actually looked pretty good. He has some good lines.

Finally the show got to Denise Richards. Her particular makeup person should be fired. She looked trannylicious as Perez would say. She lucked out and got Maksim this season. I loooove him. Karina better watch out, I wouldn't put it past Denise to put the moves on him. So on to the dance... Not great. There were some points where she looked like she just decided, "If I look cute maybe they can't tell I'm lost." She was really stiff, or maybe it looked worse because she was with Maks, who is perfect. Haha... they scored a 6-6-6 which hubby called "fitting." Can you tell we're not really fans of Denise in my household?

So Melissa from the Bachelor got proposed to and then dumped on television. Sucks to be her. I can already tell she's going to get some serious pity votes. She lucked out and got Tony. Coolest older dancer on the show. And he totally sang "Moon River" while they were dancing. Love Tony. Love that song. The dance was actually not too bad. She had a short time to practice (two days), but she did well for the short time. The stupid part of all this was the bagging on the dude who was the bachelor. We get it, that's the only reason we know her. Let's get on with life.

No elimination this week. Everyone gets to dance next Monday. Then there's an elimination next Tuesday. Where apparently the bottom two dance for survival. That should be interesting. Tomorrow, we have Idol. See you then.

Dancing: The Curse

There has to be a curse on Dancing With the Stars. The injuries and bad things happening to contestants has been occurring more with each season. And now, before this season even starts...

Jewel and Nancy O'Dell have dropped out. Nancy with a torn meniscus and Jewel with fractures in BOTH her legs.

Nice. So what next? Steve-O is going to relapse and start doing drugs again? I shouldn't have said that, I might have jinxed him. But seriously, WTF is going on?!

Dancing! Dancing is coming!!!

I was waiting anxiously for the lineup for Dancing With the Stars to be announced. And my wonderings and suspicions are now a thing of the past. Here's the lineup, with a brief "who they are," and of course a brief (or not-so-brief) "what I think."

Belinda Carlisle: Yes, that Belinda. Of the Go-Go's. I loved them for a short time (I was old enough to like them in the eighties). What do I think? Meh. I really have no speculations right now about how she'll do.

David Alan Grier: Ahhhh, DAG. He's buddies with Adam Carolla so I'm most familiar with him on that show. That's really the only capacity I can say I love him in. But if you're not sure what he's done (FYI, he has both television and movies under his belt) you could look him up on IMDB. I don't know how his dancing will be, but I hope he doesn't go tame just for the show. Because he's actually pretty funny.

Jewel: I'm kind of excited for Jewel, I have to admit. You remember her from the nineties music scene. I loved her then, and I actually got to see her open for Brad Paisley last summer. Anywho, I hope she does well. They've got some rivalry going because her husband is also dancing this season. (see Ty Murray below)

Shawn Johnson: The little girl that everyone loved on the U.S. gymnastic team last summer. We'll see how she does. She's awful little which could work as an advantage as well as a disadvantage. I'm meh on her at this point.

Lil' Kim: Ugh. If you don't know who she is, I'm envious. I wouldn't put it past her to have an "accidental" wardrobe malfunction. I hope she leaves quickly.

Gilles Marini: Who? Apparently he had a part in the Sex and the City movie. That would explain why I don't know him. I don't watch that mindless drivel.

Ty Murray: Retired rodeo bull-rider. I loved him. Yes, I watch PBR. And enjoy every minute. So yes, love him. He's also married to Jewel. I hope he sticks around for a while. Although it will be funny to me to see him dancing when I'm used to seeing him in a dirty ring jumping off a bull.

Steve-O: Of Jackass fame!!! I'm far more excited about this than I should be. I have this weird twisted crush on him. Well, not anymore, but I did for a long time. I doubt he'll last long, but a girl can hope, can't she?

Nancy O'Dell: From Access Hollywood. And lots of award show red carpets. She's cute and all, but I feel like her smiley, shiny television persona might get to me. We'll see. Watch her end up being insanely good.

Denise Richards: The attention-whore who might possibly be most famous for marrying and divorcing Charlie Sheen (and talking all kinds of trash in the process) or the movie Wild Things. And only Wild Things because she kissed a girl and had a threesome. I'm sure you can gauge my feelings toward her, right? She loves the spotlight a little too much for me.

Lawrence Taylor: The NFL Hall of Famer. Awesome. I can't remember how old he is at the moment, but if he looks old I might be a little bothered by that. I'm betting he'll be around for a while. Football players can dance.

Chuck Wicks: Country singer. Relative newcomer to the music industry. We actually caught him on tour with Brad Paisley too. He's a'ight. But funny part? He's dating Julianne Hough. Yes, the pro dancer from the show. And word is that they're going to be coupled. I'm really excited. And I have a funny story about him. When we were at said concert, I was in the bathroom afterward and overheard some extremely drunk women talking. One commented to the other that, "That Chad Hicks was pretty cute." I laughed. Hard. And loudly. I still refer to him as that.

Steve Wozniak: Apparently something to do with computers? He worked for Apple forever ago. Big whoop. My guess is he won't stick around long. Because I actually had to read about him to know who he is. Oh but wait, I'm not one of those Apple freaks who keeps track of every last person who has ever worked for them. So if nerds watch I guess he'll get votes.

There's the lineup. Show starts in March. The partners (apart from Chuck and Julianne) haven't been announced yet. I'm so stoked. Oh, and if you want the link, here.

Oh Happy Day

ABC is announcing their names for Dancing With the Stars on Sunday!!!! They're going to drop the names during their shows on Sunday, which I'm totally not going to sit around and watch. But that means the names will be all over the interwebz before I go to bed Sunday night!!!

Here's me being super excited at all this good news on a Monday.
