WOW

Okay, I knew going in that I wasn't ready for the Lost finale. I knew. I was discussing it with my mother and she was asking about the deaths that completely derailed me and I just KNEW I wasn't ready for this.

And holy cow, was it amazing!

I won't attempt a recap, or even my own two cents on the episode, because you can find those anywhere. And they'll probably be better thought out than my own would be.

I just have to say: I cried for a good portion of it. Like, easily forty minutes. Possibly more. Two rum and cokes did not help me relax. Terry O'Quinn is OUTSTANDING. The man needs an Emmy this year. I can also appreciate Michael Emerson a bit more now. I pink-puffy-heart Daniel Dae Kim. All these actors are now going to be referred to as their characters. Which is funny, because up until now hubby and I referred to Nestor Carbonell as Batmanuel. And Dominic Monaghan has always been "Merry" to us (thanks LOTR). But now he'll forever be "Chah-lie."

Yes, we say it like Claire would. Hubby corrects me if I don't say it that way.

Seriously, I really don't know if there will ever be another show that can compare with this. AMAZINGNESS. And totally worth the puffy eyes and headache I've suffered.

5 Things...

Hubby and I have been watching the last couple seasons of Lost every chance we get. And now we're going to try and fly through this season on our DVR. By Sunday. It's actually been a little exhausting and not quite as helpful as we had hoped it would be. But it gave me some random thoughts related to the show. So this week, for possibly our final time...

5 Things About Lost
  1. I'm not too thrilled with the "explanation" of the light in last week's episode. I really hope that gets touched on a bit more. It just didn't make enough sense for me.
  2. Hubby decided that Hurley has made me cry more than any other character, and I guess it's true. I cried for him when Libby died. I cried when he found out Charlie died. Then I cried again when he had to tell Claire. I cried a couple weeks ago when he outright sobbed over the deaths in that episode. I even teared up when he was able to be happy with Libby in sideways world. I guess we'll see what happens with this final three and a half hours...
  3. Watching last season over again has only confirmed that I still can't stand Juliet. And I'm horrified that her and Sawyer might end up together in sideways world. Eeesh...
  4. I'm bothered by the fact that the Man in Black has no name. REALLY bothered.
  5. I can't decide if my favorite couple for the whole series would be Jin and Sun or Desmond and Penny. Not that that really matters, but just thought I'd throw it out there.
*sigh* I am SO not ready for tonight. The episode title may have caused a small brain hemorrhage. I'll have a box of tissues ready to go. And I'm DEFINITELY not ready for Sunday night. At all.

So, if any of my readers actually keep up with the show, what are you hoping to see in the last few hours? Any random thoughts you want to share?

5 Things...

Well, this should be fairly obvious to you today.

5 THINGS ABOUT LOST (IT'S BACK TONIGHT!!!)
  1. I am seriously contemplating throwing a finale party. Seriously. If you would come, let me know. As long as I can get at least ten other people, it's ON!
  2. The first four minutes of the the premiere showed up online last week. I wasn't even tempted to watch. This is a big deal because I tend to like spoilers. Not this time.
  3. We actually haven't followed the show the entire time. Hubby and I watched the first season (so did my mom) and a little of the second. Then life intervened and some shows had to be sacrificed. Fall of 2008 SyFy (back then it was still SciFi) showed four episodes every Monday night. We watched. And then realized that we should just rent the seasons so we could get through and catch up for the Season 5 premiere. So we did.
  4. Season 4 got me through my Christmas baking. I cried so hard I had to take a break from cookie dough.
  5. I despise Juliet. Hated her with Sawyer. Also don't want Jack and Kate together. Jack has evolved into this whiny, needy guy. Kate shouldn't deal with that crap. Go Kate and Sawyer!!!
It would be so easy to make this "10 things" today, but I won't. Not sure if I'll post my thoughts on the episode each week or not. I guess it'll depend on how I'm feeling. And just FYI, the American Idol live blogs will suffer. Lost wins.

Monday Coolness

Another week friends, but this week is special.

LOST STARTS TOMORROW NIGHT!!!

Are you ready?

So in honor of tomorrow, today's coolness is a Brokeback Mountain/Lost video. I laughed pretty hard the first time I saw it. And I mentioned it to a friend who decided he was interested in seeing it. So here ya go. It's funny to me how they used some of these moments. It's actually really well done.

I just looked at my countdown.

Only 68 days until Lost. Guess I should start that rewatch soon...

Lost... and Today's Plans

Ohhhh Lost last night. How I love and hate it right now.

I threw things. At the television. Not heavy things that could do damage, just some crafting supplies. Stupid Sawyer. Stupid Juliet.

There are many more questions and little things, but the Sawyer-Juliet thing is at the front of my mind. Ugh...

So today I have plans... work out, use the education website (that I totally forgot about) to look for a job. I can actually apply online too, so I'll be doing that. And... I'm going to get some hairs cut. Possibly cutting bangs... pics to come tomorrow.

What are you doing today?

The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham

Just some thoughts on Lost last night.
  1. Hubby took less than two seconds to guess who the "mystery person" was at the very beginning of the show. "It's Locke." Then BAM! It is.
  2. Dude, when did Walt become a MAN?! Hubby uttered a "holy (insert naughty-word)" at the sight of him.
  3. Hurley is great. Thinking he was seeing Locke because he was dead and asking the nurse if he was talking to a guy in a wheelchair. Classic Hurley.
  4. It's just weird seeing Locke in his wheelchair.
  5. I'm sad for John at Helen's grave. I knew nothing good could have happened to her.
  6. Jeebus Ben is a weasel. I hate that he's the one who killed Locke.
  7. I really have no clue who to trust in the Ben vs. Widmore thing. But with Ben killing John once he got what he wanted for him I'm going to side with Widmore.

So much more on my mind about the episode, but it's just hard to put some of it into words. I welcome your comments. Unless of course you're a snarky smarty-pants like the random commenter last time. I'll delete you if I feel like you're being a jerk.

Lost: The Little Prince

Why, oh why do you leave me with more questions every week Lost? Why? Do you enjoy hurting my brain? Do you enjoy making me obsess over things?

What's up with the lawyer-guy? Why does he have his finger in everybody's peanut butter? He's dealing with Claire's mom, Kate and Aaron, and apparently Hurley. And reporting to Ben in the process. WTF? Hubby says he's from the island and one of Ben's cohorts.

Hubby also totally called the fact that Ben was the one demanding a test from Kate. All to get her back to the island.

Okay, and who sent Sun the gun? BTW, I love the fact that it was in the box of chocolates. I told hubby that would be a perfectly acceptable way to give me a gun. Disguised by a layer of tasty, tasty chocolate.

And I so KNEW Jin wasn't dead. This made me very happy. I told hubby there was no way he could be dead. So he's been floating around close enough to the island that he's been going through all these flashes in time? I'm assuming that's what happened.

And one more thing. IS ANYBODY ELSE SICK TO DEATH OF JULIET?! Ugh, her mere presence is annoying. I have a problem with the fact that she seems to show absolutely no emotion. Hubby said it's part of being an Other. I don't know if I buy that. But I do buy that she sucks. She'll die at some point, right? Right???

So anyone else have any other observations/questions about last night?

Do you know what TODAY is?

It's Wednesday the 21st of January. That means that at eight tonight...

LOST IS BACK!!!

Now there is a problem. American Idol is on at the same time. But I've decided that I sincerely enjoy my live-blogging and I'll watch American Idol while I set the DVR for Lost. *sigh* What did the world do before DVR?

It's also comic book day. So I need to scoot my butt over to Marvel.com to see if anything came out today that I was waiting for. See y'all tonight at eight!

**EDIT**
Lost isn't until nine! Yay!
