Friday Photo

Happy Friday y'all! It was another fast week for me. And I'm totes ready for my weekend... my Tad is coming over!

So it's been COLD this week. And this weekend is going to be even colder. To the point that we may actually get a little snow on the valley floor. All I want to do is sit under blankets. And I bet Tad and I will do plenty of that. Kind of like Greenlee was doing last weekend...

She was cold and I had stuff to do so I just let her bundle up on the couch. I love that blanket. It's the comfiest thing ever. I'll be spending a lot of time with it this weekend.

Any plans for yourself?

Happy Friday!!

Good Things

No wish list, but some good things to share this morning.

We got our car!!!! Pics to come... eventually. He needs to be properly photographed.

Arthur can come home from the shop today!

I got several positive work-related comments yesterday. Had me feeling pretty good.

And hubby brought me cupcakes from his trek to So Cal. :) Cupcakes that I didn't have to bake are always welcome.

Happy Thursday friends!

Yo

No wish list today. By the time I actually sat down at my computer I was far too tired to start the process of making one.

Perhaps you would like to hear about my life?

I went roller skating. Yeah. Roller skating. And managed not to kill myself. Our PTF at school had a family skate night in the town hubby and I used to live in (and sissy and the kids still live in). So we all headed out to skate. Super fun. It was nice seeing my kids excited to see me. :)

Today hubby is FINALLY going to get the car! Unfortch this means I won't see him until I get back from church tonight. :(

Tomorrow... well, there shouldn't be anything going on. Picking up Arthur from the shop probably. Hopefully. And shelling out some serious money. :(

Soooo happy Wednesday friends. Maybe tomorrow I'll get a wish list up. I have a ton of things already favorited. :)

5 Things

It's Tuesday... hollllaaaaaa.

Don't ask me where that came from, because I really couldn't tell you. I can tell you that Blogger's little "improvements" or whatever they're wanting to call them are really annoying me. I feel like it's slowing me down or something. Anywho, that's not what we're here for today.

Over break I didn't get much accomplished. Shooting trip got rained out, car got delayed (and at this point I don't want it if it has to come from the riDONKulous dealer that we've dealt with), PLUS Arthur decided to be sick and try to die (hello shop, goodbye money). But let's look at some things that DID happen...

5 Things I Accomplished Over Break
  1. My gallery wall!!! Pics to come later this week... maybe.
  2. A wreath for the front door. Also possible pics to come later.
  3. Set a date for hubby's birthday party.
  4. A decent amount of reading for the fun of it.
  5. Bought the last thing needed to recover my dining room chairs!
I'm kind of loving my house. And I'm well on my way to getting a couple rooms finished in it. Well, mostly finished. I dunno, does staining furniture need to be complete too? I suppose...

I'm going to go dream about what happens next for my house. Happy Tuesday!

Monday Coolness

Can I just tell you I was SO not ready to go to work this morning. I got tired yesterday and just didn't really recover.

So let's jump into a video that's super cute.

Happy Monday.

Friday Photo

Keepin' it simple today. Totally untouched photo from a couple weeks ago.

We had been having some amazing sunsets and there's a couple dead ends that look out on old orchards by my house. So I pulled over and got some shots. I wish this one was sharper because I'd love to hang it up. Maybe I'll attempt again when we have some more awesome skies.

Happy Friday!

Mmmmm...

Okay, so it's a bit early to be posting a picture of beer, but I didn't just drink it. Hubby drank this one. Not right now, with dinner one night.

You may notice that it's a double chocolate stout. Sam Adams makes a chocolate beer that I LOVE so hubby saw this and decided he needed to try it. I decided that he needs to save me a bottle for...

... cupcakes.

Yes, cupcakes. People have been putting Guiness into cupcakes for awhile now and I knew a chocolate stout would be amazing. So that's the project for this weekend (I think). Here's one recipe I've found so far. Now I just need to bust out my old laptop to retrieve bookmarks because I'm thinking that the vanilla bean cream cheese frosting I made for my mom's birthday would be AWESOME on these things.

Sorry if I just made you crave a cupcake. *cough*Heather*cough*

Happy Thursday.

**EDIT**

Just found this recipe in which she uses the same beer I happen to have. It appears this will be the winner.

Wednesday Wish List

We bought Greenlee her ID tag yesterday. It's little. And pink. But it's not special. So I took to Etsy and ended up finding some fun dog stuff. :)

If you're not one of those people who likes to spoil your dog you may want to skip this. I however, am the type of person who is going to make cute things for mine.

Okay so there's an actual Etsy store that sells elk antlers for dogs to chew on. I think hubby liked this idea. ACTUAL antlers. (via WildandWooleyTreats)

It's bling. Get it?? I think Greenlee might need some. And then Sookie when we get her this summer (did I mention we're going to get a beagle and name her Sookie? Now I did.) (via emikoshop)
Sparkly. Collars. I love glitter. I'll take every color. (via restowe)

Aaaaand the girliest ID tag EVER! I honestly might order this one. It's far too cute to pass up. (via veryvintage)

I'm not going to buy this, but a leash hook is a good idea when you have more than one dog. So I'll be making some. I've already got the cute version in my head. (via tannerglass)

Okay, these aren't cute, but they're NOISELESS ID tags. NO jingling! I like this idea very much. They'll be getting some for hunting season. (via craftytagz)

The girls will need this collar. I mean, their mommy IS an amateur baker. (via Zuzutopia)

And ohhhh this. Hoodies. On dogs. Slightly ridiculous, but it doesn't make me love it any less. (via PetitDogApparel)

So now that you possibly find me and my willingness to spoil my dog ridiculous... have a happy Wednesday.

5 Things?

Gotta love how unpredictable things can be.

Our shooting trip? Ummm... might be delayed for another day seeing as how we were going to head up into the mountains and we're looking at a chance of snow tomorrow. Hmmm...

But today we may just be heading out of town to go get our new (to us) car! I'm crossing my fingers and my toes that this all comes together. We're approved for our loan and got the dealer to agree to a price over the phone. Now we have to wait on the bank this morning. And brother in law to get out of class (he's coming down with us). So hopefully I'll be able to show you the new baby tomorrow?

But it's Tuesday, and that's supposed to be my 5 Things day. And I don't want to disappoint. So in the theme of unpredictable things...

5 Unexpected Things That Are Actually Welcome
  1. Finding money in a jacket or a pair of jeans.
  2. Flowers. Who could turn down flowers?
  3. Running into an ex/former mean girl/anyone who tortured you in some way when you look smokin' hot.
  4. When you buy something and it's actually on sale and you weren't aware of it.
  5. Messing up a recipe but it still turns out as something that's not just edible, but good!
Not that I pulled a number five this weekend. I totes didn't forget to put baking soda in a cake and accidentally turn it into brownies. That would never happen. ;)

Happy Tuesday!

Who Has Vacation?

I have vacation!

We have a whole week off for President's next week. Commence to celebrating. On the list...
  • hittin' up the range and doing some shootin'.
  • shopping with one of my sisters? Perhaps...
  • heading up north to see cousin's band? Perhaps...
  • I really think I might finally throw that wine-tasting party.
  • craftiiiing a.k.a. my favorite thing ever!
  • reading, I have a lot of books to read at the moment.
  • Buffalo Wild Wings!!! We got one in town and haven't been yet, we'll fix that.
That list could totally change, and probably will. We might have to take Arthur (my Civic) to the shop. Boooooo. Let's all start praying now that we don't have to. That could get expensive. :/

Any suggestions for me next week? Anyone want to join me on any adventures?

Monday Coolness

It's fairly obvious I love commercials, right? This one started making the rounds last week and it's the cutest thing ever. I can see my own children doing this one day. (Mainly because between hubby and Grandma Jocelyn they'll have plenty of Star Wars knowledge.)

Happy Monday. Don't forget to use the force. :)

A Whole Range of Feelings

So my team is totes in the Big Game this year. Go Packers!!! I also dug up my old Favre jersey (since I don't have one with a current player's number). I questioned whether or not I would sit through the half-time show.

You see, the Black Eyed Peas and I have a love-hate relationship. I love their older stuff. Their newer stuff... welllll... I guess we could leave it at the fact that I rarely love it. I typically find myself thinking, "What IS this?" Then I feel old.

So half-time could be great, or it could be confusing. I had no idea what to expect.

Overall, solid A performance. The whole thing was really well put-together, the songs flowed nicely, the costumes weren't God-awful, and Fergie didn't totally offend my eyes (although I have to mention Will.I.Am's headpiece... ummmm... whaaaat?). I even enjoyed most of the songs they performed. AND Usher. I mean, I grew up in his hey day (is there a space in there?) and the man can DANCE.

Then Slash showed up, which was awesome. I love Slash, my brother used to have hair like him (R.I.P. Nick's glorious hair). But then Fergie went and gyrated on him. And let rip the WORST rendition of "Sweet Child of Mine" to ever hit my ear drums. And I've heard that song done at karaoke multiple times. I cringed. Then I said words. I almost tweeted, but the whole lack of a laptop interferes with that at times. I cringed some more, and almost wept.

But that wasn't the worst part.

See, while shopping with sissy awhile ago, I heard this AWFUL bastardization of "I've Had the Time of My Life." You know, the famous ending song from Dirty Dancing. The song that made a generation of girls want a pink twirly dress and a Johnny to dance with. I heard it in the store, almost threw up, but then promptly forgot about it.

Until half-time.

When Will.I.Am starts singing it. And Fergie joins in. And I almost lost my Captain and Coke. Now I know who to blame. And now I'm ashamed for enjoying any of the half-time show at all.

I'm going to go watch the Packers win now. And then enjoy a new episode of Glee. Happy Super Bowl.

*Check*

Check another thing off the list. I went and had a Brazilian blowout today. My. Hair. Feels. Amazing. I will be doing this regularly now. I would include a pic, but it really wouldn't do my hair justice. I seriously want to just sit here and feel my hair all day.

If you have curly hair and money to spend, do it.

So let's check one more off the list. Up next... maybe a wine tasting party? I do have a week long break coming up so I'll have more than enough time to prep...

**EDIT** I should point out that the only reason this one got done so quickly is because my awesome mama bought me a gift certificate for my birthday. Thanks mom. :)

Yo

So I've been slacking off with the blog a little lately. I've just been SO TIRED this week. Like, super tired. And before anyone asks, no I'm not pregnant so that's not it. (You have to realize this is a standard disclaimer when you've been married three years and produced no offspring.)

I do have a funny story for you though.

I have a first grader who likes Bon Jovi.

I discovered this yesterday. Gives me hope for the future that she likes Bon Jovi and not Justin Bieber. Yay for parents with good taste!

Happy Friday.

Dude

It's February.

Yesterday was the 100th day of school.

I only have nine school days until a week-long break.

That is all.

Happy Tuesday.
